Q. Wow, what a run for the stock market! As crappy as the economy has been, what do
you think is the reason? (Tyra ~ Jackson

A. A lot of things have been stoking the market. For one, I think investors now know that
Obama’s massive spending can indeed be stopped, and that someone finally has
the testicular fortitude to do it. There’s
also the continued printing of money by the U.S. which always fuels investment
as stockholders seek to retain their actual portfolio values in the face of
growing inflation. And, of course, ever
since Joe Biden’s remarks, shotgun sales have gone through the roof, so to
speak.
Q. What do you think of Hugo Chavez’ death? (Owen ~ Grand Junction, CO)
A. I wouldn’t rule out a power struggle in Venezuela. Within hours of his death, I now detect an effort
to idolize him in the liberal-left United States. He was a ruthless dictator who espoused many
of Obama’s doctrines and vice versa. At
least we finally know that he won’t be the next Pope.
Q. Did I hear that Obama is so upset over the fact that the
Republicans did not cave in on Sequester that he’s closed the White House to
public tours? (Horatio ~ Laguna Beach,
CA)
A. Yes. I guess he’s
still in a real snit. He might even take
Air Force One for another low-altitude publicity flight over New York
City.
