Vice President Joe Biden, speaking at a Democrat meeting in
New York, lashed out at the Republicans as being “dysfunctional.” “The country’s ready to move and we have a
House of Representatives that’s in the way right now,” Biden said, claiming the
Democrats won a decisive victory in November.
COMMENTS:
Well, let me tell you something there, Joe… Americans
elected those guys to be in Congress because they knew damned well what you and
Obama would do to this country if you were not unchecked. Decisive victory? Your party won the White House by the
smallest margin an incumbent has won reelection in the history of this
nation. It’s time someone had the guts
to stand up and tell you guys where to shove it. The Republicans may be dysfunctional at the
moment, sir, but the Democrats are proving themselves to be the assholes of all
time. There… I’ve said it; now I’ll get
back to being polite. Why don’t you sit
down and shut up?
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. As I understand it, the new proposed budget passed by the
Senate includes $1 trillion in new taxes to replace Sequestration, meaning that
the debt would not be reduced by one dime and they could keep on spending. Why don’t they understand that the vast
majority of Americans want, even demand fiscal responsibility? (Colleen ~ Napa, CA)
A. To be fair, it was a close vote by 50-49 with one not
voting. Obviously, even they are
beginning to recognize that we Americans have had enough. This foolhardy, die-hard spending spree has
got to stop and I think they do understand that; they’re just not ready to come
to grips with the fact yet. Maybe if we
took them out for drinks, we might finally convince them.
Q. What do you make of the IRS spending taxpayer money of a “Star
Trek” take-off as a training video at the cost of $60,000? (Marlena ~ Anderson, IN)
A. Don’t get your tail in a knot. That’s penny ante stuff. How about $500,000 for a proposal to send a
select group of Afghan High Peace Council (HPC) members and other Afghan
traditional leaders to the United States to increase their understanding of
American society and values and to see how religious pluralism works in the
United States. This would include visits to Muslim-American communities,
experiences with Afghan-American and Muslim life in America first-hand,
meetings with organizations dedicated to reconciliation and conflict
resolution, and the viewing of examples of American civil society working to
improve local communities. In other
words, we want to spend $500,000 to pay for Afghani vacations in the U.S.
Q. Why doesn’t China recognize what a threat to world peace
North Korea is and do something to rein in their “ally?” ~ (Lance, Bullhead City,
AZ)
A. Just yesterday it was revealed that China is trying to
punish North Korea for its nuclear and missile tests and is stepping up
inspections of North Korean-bound cargo in a calibrated effort to send a
message of Chinese concern without further provoking Kim Jung Un. Chinese moves to crimp, but to not cut off
trade with North Korea come as Beijing falls under increased scrutiny to
enforce new U.N. sanctions passed after last month’s nuclear test. Any parent who has tried to deal with a
drug-crazed teenager knows that this is really akin to peeing into the wind.
