Corpus Christi police say a 13-year-old South Texas boy stands accused of using a hammer to beat his mother. Police said Monday that the child has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family violence. The mother suffered head, arm and facial injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Officers say the boy fled after the attack, but later returned to the scene and was found hiding under a bed.
COMMENTS:
This just goes to prove my
contention that hammers are dangerous weapons and need to be outlawed. We can start by requiring purchasers to be
licensed after a background investigation.
First-time purchasers should require a Hammer Safety Course approved by
the Justice Department. A waiting period
of 30 days should be imposed before a hammer can be picked up. The purchase of replacement parts such as the
head or the handle should be limited to persons over the age of 18 after
providing a fingerprint and identification.
That should solve the issue in the future.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Right off the bat, we hear from the Obama fortress that
Ryan is a “right-wing ideologue.” What’s
your reaction to those snide remarks?
(Margaret ~ San Diego, CA)
A. After seeing what a far-left wing ideologue has done for
the country, I think that the remark is a great compliment. Their theories have done nothing but destroy
the nation and it’s time we got back to conservative and American
principles. Isn’t it time we Americans take
our country back?
Q. Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has invited Ahmadinejad
and Obama to lunch at the United Nations next month. Will Obama attend, and what will come of
it? (Pendleton ~ Missoula, MT)
A. It’s a no-win for Obama.
If Morsi succeeds in brokering some kind of a deal, he’s the hero and
Obama’s the schmuck. If Morsi doesn’t succeed, Obama’s still the
schmuck. Now, if it’s just for a photo
op so they can snap pictures of Obama bowing to Morsi and Ahmadinejad… then it
might happen.
Q. Border Patrol agents have been smuggling aliens across the
border? (Stan ~ Medford, OR)
A. Yes. Raul and
Fidel Villarreal were convicted of charges that they brought illegal immigrants
into the U.S. for money and that they received bribes by public officials, as
well as counts of conspiracy to launder money. Prosecutors said Raul started a
ring that smuggled in Mexicans and Brazilians and made Fidel, his older brother
and fellow agent, one of his first recruits.
In the meanwhile, the IRS agents have been instructed to “look the other
way” when they see indications that illegals are obtaining and using fraudulent
Taxpayer Identification Numbers.
TODAY’S QUOTE:
“Left-wing
politicians take away your liberty in the name of children and of fighting
poverty, while right-wing politicians do it in the name of family values and
fighting drugs. Either way, government gets bigger and you become less free.” ~
