And, of course, we have no way of
knowing whether or not Obama is in this country legally. If he was in fact born in Kenya, what is his
immigration status?
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Why doesn’t Newt bow out and let Rick tackle Mitt
head-on? (Edna ~ Central Point, OR)
A. Newt could still pull this out. Besides, what you are missing here is that
Mitt’s approval ratings are running in the mid-40% area, which means that 55%
or so of the Republicans are still not enamored with him. On that basis, Mitt should be the one
dropping out.
Q. I heard something on the news yesterday about water bills
going up by as much as 300%. I didn’t
get the whole story. (Ronnie ~
Middletown, CA)
A. Water systems around the country are old and deteriorating. Unlike other businesses who set aside money for
repairs and replacement, the nation’s water utilities have not been doing so. That means we consumers will have to pay for
these fixes through higher rates. I don’t
think Obama is going to let us drill for more water, either.
Q. ObamaCare cost $111 billion more last year than
forecast. Why? (Jan ~ Kellogg, ID)
A. The House is looking at it and Obama’s Health guru,
Kathleen Sebelius doesn’t have the foggiest idea. The increase cannot be explained by
legislative changes or new economic assumptions, and therefore means that underlying
assumptions about the way the subsidies should work were wrong.
