President Obama on Friday signed an Executive Order that
gives him the power to seize total control over all of the nation’s resources
in time of war or natural disaster. Only
the Congress has the right to bestow such power on the Presidency and Obama has
therefore violated the Constitutional doctrine of separation of powers.
COMMENTS:
This is a step similar to ones taken by leaders of other
countries who were about to declare martial law, throw out a country’s
constitution and take total control. WHY ISN’T THIS FRONT PAGE NEWS?
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. The New Orleans Saints were severely punished by the NFL because
they paid bonus money to players who nailed opposing team members so hard that
they ended up on a stretcher or got totally knocked out. But, this will affect them for two whole
seasons. Is that fair? (Gabby ~ Bethesda, MD)
A. If it had been up to me, I would have yanked the franchise. Obviously, the Saints weren’t living up to
their name.
Q. What do you think about Jeb Bush endorsing Mitt
Romney? (Olin ~ Sunnyvale, CA)
A. Who’s Jeb Bush?
Q. Whatever happened to the insider trading issue where
Members of Congress are not prohibited from doing it? (Ted ~ Chico, CA)
A. There’s a Bill in the Senate that would prohibit
Congressional insider trading. There
could be a vote on it Thursday. Don’t
expect it to pass; there are too many crooks in Congress.
