VANISHING RETIREMENT

As the American economy continues to fall apart, as unemployment remains at continuing historical highs, as housing values head for the basement, more and more Americans are realizing that the “golden” years have gone away, leaving their 401k’s drained, savings gone, and housing in danger.  A record number of Americans now know that they will not be able to afford a comfortable retirement at a reasonable age.  This means that Americans must either work longer or turn to the public coffers for help.

COMMENTS:
With the debt ceiling going up and America’s long-term debt prospects growing dimmer, it is highly likely that these problems will continue to grow over the coming decades.  Yet, we have a Washington atmosphere that continues to play politics with unemployment and the national debt instead of doing what is best for the country.  We need to come to grips with reality now, and prepare to throw the bastards out.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Your language is growing more colorful with each blog post.  Just the other day, by the way, you made an off-color remark about President Obama and America finding out what is “true color” really is.  What gives?  (Irma ~ Cottonwood, AZ)
A. Well, everything this Administration is doing to our country aggravates the hell out of me.  Believe me, I tone things down from what I am really thinking.  As for the Obama remark, I meant to type “colors” and left off the “s” making it appear racist.  Showing one’s “true colors” is not racist.  My apologies to the President for the off-color mistake.  Since I like Herman Cain for President right now, that should settle the issue.

Q. Netflix just jacked up my monthly bill by 60%.  When I tried to call them, their lines were busy and there is no way you can email them.  What’s the skinny?  (Jocelyn ~ Burney, CA)
A. Corporate greed has reared its ugly head.  Their expenses have not increased.  Their arrangement with the Post Office has not changed and streaming videos doesn’t cost any more.  They know they are in the wrong and they don’t care to hear your griping, so they make it impossible to reach them.  A company spokesman recently refused to adequately explain the price hikes.  They need to go bankrupt; I too cancelled my subscription.

Q. I’ve noticed that the tone of your responses lately is a little meaner and nastier.  Why?  (Normajean ~ Susanville, CA)
A. The evil doers in Congress and the White House have upset me.  They have no regard for what the public wants and they openly defy the will of the people.  They have the nation ready to get on their Harleys and ride through the halls and back rooms of Washington.  Vrooom.  Vrooom!  A new vrooom sveeps clean!
