President Obama has been lecturing
Congressional lawmakers to get a deficit-reduction bill passed and in a
hurry. But, at the same time, he’s been
adamant about increasing taxes. The
Republicans want more spending cuts before they will even consider raising
taxes, and they also want to see tax loopholes closed. Obama said yesterday that if the Republicans don’t
back down, there will be no deal.
COMMENTS:
Fine, Mr. President; if that’s what you want, no deal. Enough of your bullshit is enough.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. China is talking
about building its own space station. I
thought ours was the “International” Space Station. Why do they want their own? (Monte ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. They can afford to
run theirs.
Q. Now the story
is that Ahmadinejad is having a fight with religious leaders in Iran. What does that mean? (Donna ~ San Luis Obispo, CA)
A. The Ayatollahs run
Iran. Their President may be “elected,”
but his throat will be slashed from ear to ear if he doesn’t do what the
Ayatollah says. The religious leaders
have recently been critical of him for distancing himself from Iran’s
clergy. Uh, oh; it seems that he, too,
can be terminated. If that should
happen, U.S. relations with Iran could get much worse; or maybe better,
depending on which side of the guillotine you stand.
Q. What are we going
to do about our embassy in Syria? (Lance
~ Susanville, CA)
A. Close it, I
hope. The last thing we need is to have
an ambassador and staff end up as hostages.
Hmmm… Maybe Obama could play golf there?
