AARP: OKAY TO CUT SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS

The Wall Street Journal reported on June 17th that AARP is changing its position against cutting Social Security benefits.  Heretofore, AARP has been adamantly opposed to any such cuts, but has recently nuanced its position toward “we don’t want to see any benefit cuts, BUT we want to see the system remain solvent.”  Accordingly, it is evidently prepared to see benefit cuts that will save Social Security; the group has signaled openness to adjusting the program’s tax revenues and spending in order to shore up its long-term fiscal stability.

COMMENTS:
AARP sold out the country when it agreed to the transfer of hundreds of billions of dollars in Medicare funds to shore up ObamaCare.  Like Obama, it has lost touch with reality and is doing great disservice to its members. They should drop the first "A" from their name.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q.  There’s a big push on for Americans to quit eating hot dogs.  They say “too much sodium and fat.”  People are living longer and longer these days and they keep trying to take away things that we enjoy.  Why?  (Jake ~ Reno, NV)
A.  That’s their more subtle way of destroying our institutions so they can destroy our country.  It’s the “fat police,” the anti-SUV movement, the “take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance” gang and similar campaigns that are really anti-American when you get down to it.  I don’t know about you, but I will enjoy my hot dogs and hamburgers this 4th of July and I will stomp the crap out of anyone who tries to stop me.

Q.  All of this environmental stuff is getting to be overwhelming.  How do we stop it?  (Kim ~ Anderson, CA)
A.  Well, we are stewards of the Earth and we do have an inherent responsibility to protect it and pass it along to our descendants in good shape.  So, environmentalism is a good thing.  But, like anything else, when you change it into a police mentality, a Gestapo thing, then it becomes bad and malevolent.  The power of the EPA in this country is enormous and definitely needs to be shackled, right after we impeach Obama.

Q.  Did you go to the big Burney parade yesterday?  (Mary ~ Burney, CA)
A.  Absolutely.  I love small town events and Burney puts on a great one.  Did you try out the pit BBQ beef at the VFW Hall?  This is the thing about America I do love so much and I suppose it won’t be long before they find some reason to stop these things, too.  When are we going to fight back?
