U.S. COURT INTERPRETER KILLED IN MEXICO

A Texas court interpreter who was kidnapped earlier this month has been found dead in Mexico; relatives failed to pay a $10,000 ransom. He is said to have traveled over the border to have work done on his car.  His body was found near Ciudad Juarez, bound with duct tape and stabbed repeatedly.  Three suspects have been caught.

COMMENTS:
There is some more detail to the story, but it boils down to opportunists who thought they could extract money from the family of an American citizen.  I need to emphasize: any American who travels to Mexico from the U.S. is asking for it and it is obvious that our government doesn’t care.  Don’t even worry about drinking the water; just don’t go there.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I see that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Maria Shriver, is asking for support. How much?  (Billie ~ Carson City, NV)
A. I don’t know how much, but they both have more money than God.  She had her own niche in the news and entertainment industry as well as her share of the Kennedy fortune; he has all of his movie royalties and a huge investment income.  They did not have a prenuptial agreement and it is expected they will have an out-of-court settlement unless, of course, the mistress decides to butt in.

Q. Isn’t this national heat wave proof of global warming?  (Jan ~ Santa Clara, CA)
A. It’s not the worst heat wave we have ever had and we just had a long and cold winter in much of the U.S.  The weather is constantly changing due to the effects of El Nino and La Nina, among other things.  I don’t think it is indicative of anything.  If there is going to be any other impact on weather in the Americas, I think it will be due to some impact of all of that oil which is still there in the gulf, much of it below the surface. Out of sight, out of mind.

Q. What do you think of the big blow up between Debbie Wasserman Schults and Allen West?  Isn’t this all “conduct unbecoming Congressmen?”  (Teddy ~ Big Bear, CA)
A. She deserved it.  Her inflammatory rhetoric IS unbecoming a lady.  I don’t think West should have called her “vile and despicable,” however.  I would have just referred to her as a “bitch.”  It’s a trait that seems to run in the far-left verbal-attack brigade, most of whom are really upset because they wanted the honor of being called the most vile and despicable.

TODAY’S QUOTE:
“Is it a violation of the House rule wherein members are not permitted to make disparaging references to the President of the United States?  In two previous gentlemen’s statements on the amendment, both of them referred to the Affordable Care Act, which is the accurate title of the health care reform law, as ‘ObamaCare.’  That is a disparaging reference to the President of the United States.  … It is clearly in violation of House rules against that.” ~ Debbie Wasserman Schults
