U.S. GOVERNMENT PUSHING ILLEGAL DRUGS?

THE BLAZE is reporting that the government worked with the Sinaola drug cartel from 2000 to 2012; in exchange for information on rival cartels, the U.S. allowed the Sinaolas to smuggle illegal drugs across our southern borders.

COMMENTS:
That seems to be the way it always is with our government these days; the ends justify the means.  Notice that this philosophy runs across both the Bush and the Obama administrations. Where is our national conscience, or do we really have one anymore?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. There’s a big flap over searches occurring at the borders.  What’s your opinion regarding privacy rights vs. national security?  (Geraldine ~ Berkeley, CA)
A. When you arrive at a port or an international airport, customs can go completely through your luggage and personal belongings.  The problem is that these searches have extended into digital cameras, laptops and tablets, voice records and so forth.  I believe that when you cross the border, you agree to be searched; but when it gets into reading diaries and intruding into data and picture files, I think there needs to be reasonable suspicion. I also believe that they have the right to detain you until a judge can rule on the issue of probable cause.  Now, once you are in the country and away from the border crossing, I believe they have no right to search you or your belongings at all without a judge’s order or probable cause.  We must have national security; that’s a given.  We do NOT have to give up our unalienable rights in order to get our national security.
Q. The cybersecurity breach at Target is far worse than we were first led to believe.  Now it’s up to 100 million files compromised.  And there are other retailers affected as well, including Microsoft and Neiman Marcus.  How can we protect ourselves?  (Gina ~ Fremont, CA)
A. Not by hiring the guys who designed the ObamaCare website, that’s for certain.  Here’s the thing: if retailers or anyone else are going to maintain information about you in data files, information that could cause you physical or fiscal harm, they have a responsibility to protect that information.  Now, there may be nefarious types out there seeking to obtain that information, but the responsibility to protect you lies with the owner and operator of the data file.  So, you need to read your agreement with the company and see what language, if any, that it contains about cyber security.  If they do not agree to hold you harmless through collecting and retaining such information, you shouldn’t open a charge account there and I’d be leery of using a bank card as well.

Q. Why are the Republicans now starting to push for amnesty for the illegal aliens?  (Don ~ Springfield, OR)
A. They are of the opinion they have to in order to get the Mexican vote.  The fact they are willing to give up getting the conservative vote or the Tea Party vote in order to do so speaks for itself.
