The WASHINGTON POST reported at 7:14 AM EDT yesterday that Iran is claiming it shot down an unmanned Lockheed-Martin RQ-170 Sentinel stealth drone along its eastern border Sunday, Iran time. This report was subsequently carried as is Sunday night by ABC NEWS. At post time, the report is not confirmed by U.S. officials, but Iran is claiming the drone is largely intact and has been hauled away for inspection. According to an unnamed Iranian military official, Iran’s cyber warfare unit managed to take over controls of the drone and bring it down. Iran also said that such future actions will not be limited to their borders.
COMMENTS:
If we were within their borders, they had a right to shoot
it down under international law.
Regardless, I don’t think this President is going to do anything about
it except to scream like a wounded banshee.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I heard through the computer grapevine that hackers can
take control of your printer and set it on fire. Is that true?
(Waldo ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. In some limited cases, yes. First, they have to get past your internet
security software, so keep it up to date.
Second, they can only do this to HP Laser Jet printers, no other type or
manufacturer. Watch what emails you open
up and what websites you visit. This
info is courtesy of Kim Komando at

Q. I read that Donald Berwick, one of Obama’s Czars, has
resigned. He was overseeing Medicare and
Medicaid and had strong views opposing healthcare for senior citizens. Who is taking his place? (Karen ~ Campbell, CA)
A. Yes, Berwick was appointed by Obama during a
Congressional recess because even the Dems didn’t like Berwick. Now enters Marilyn Tavenner. When introducing her, Obama said she is going
to root out fraud, waste and abuse in the systems. It should be mentioned that she was formerly a
top executive with HCA, which just got hit with one of the biggest fines in
history for…. Medicare fraud.
Q. There is a big scare that doctors will not take Medicare
patients after January 1st.
Why not? (Yancey ~ Denver, CO)
A. Due to a 1990’s budget glitch that never got fixed,
reimbursements to doctors will go down 27% after January 1st and
they are uniformly saying they will not serve Medicare patients
thereafter. Now, I know for a fact that
billing Medicare and getting paid are difficult and time consuming tasks that
involve extra staff for medical offices to handle. I don’t blame the doctors for their
stance. It remains to be seen whether or
not those jackasses in Congress can fix the problem in time. Frankly, I doubt it. And, Obama has very little business telling
Congress they might have to stay over Christmas to deal with it when he’s never
in Washington himself. It’s as if he has
already abdicated his throne.
