The Sacramento Tea Party endorsed
Utah’s Senator Mike Lee for reelection in 2016 over the weekend. That prompted a response by Utah’s Democrat Party
Chairman Jim Dubakis, who said: “All
he’s [Mike Lee] involved in is this outlandish constitutional view. That’s his
constituency. That’s his passion. That’s his whole reason for being. It’s not
the people of Utah.”

Things sure have changed since I left that state. If they feel that way, I wonder why the state joined the Union. Oh, that’s right: so they could sign up for ObamaCare.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. The Republicans say we’ve paid out enough in unemployment
compensation extensions for people out of work; the Democrats say we owe it to
them as a “safety net” while they look for work. How do you see it? (Jennifer ~ Santa Barbara, CA)
A. I’m down the middle.
The first 26 weeks should be based on the active search for jobs and the
submission of job search records. Anything
after that should be based on a minimum of three job search contacts per week
and 20 hours of acceptable community service; taking courses to learn a new
trade could qualify for some of the community service requirement.
Q. Obama is sending John Kerry and Wendy Sherman to The Hill
to stump for the new Iranian deal and convince Congress not to pile on more sanctions. If the deal is so good, why does he need to
convince Congress? (Phil ~ Lacey, WA)
A. That’s just it: the deal stinks. In fact, the lack of interest by other
countries which will have to sign off on the arrangement leads me to believe
the agreement may be dead, anyway.
Q. What’s your reaction to the new ObamaCare line: “You can
keep your doctor if you want to pay for it?”
(Chet ~ El Centro, CA)
A. That would somehow imply that you could spend more for
your insurance and be able to keep your doctor.
That’s a total fabrication. The
plans are not written to accommodate that type of choice and a large percentage
of doctors are refusing to accept ObamaCare insurance. It’s just another pile of flimflam.
