More than a million Americans got their last unemployment compensation check yesterday, signaling the start of further reductions in unemployment benefits as the new budget kicks in.
COMMENTS:
These are people who have already lost their cars, houses,
furniture and in some cases their families.
They will be moving in with relatives, seeking soup kitchens and living
in desperation. Their plight will pull
down the net incomes of those relatives and stretch the budgets of charitable
organizations to the max. Add to that
the effect of outrageous ObamaCare premiums and the buying power of Americans
is going to be severely and adversely impacted in the immediate months ahead. The danger to our national economy, being as
fragile as it currently is, is serious.
Hold on to your girdles; we’re in for a tough ride in 2014.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. People are being thrown into debtors prisons again? (Julia
~ Farmington, NM)
A. In a very real way, the answer is yes. In some areas of the U.S., where cash-strapped
people cannot pay court-ordered fines, they are being arbitrarily thrown into
jail, often at costs to cities and counties far exceeding the amount of the
fine. Yes, it’s an extension of the “police
mentality” gripping the country. This
may sound far-fetched, but suppose you owe a $500 fine you can’t pay, and there
you are hiding in a culvert from the cops who are searching the area with
drones and dogs, bound and determined to get you. "Nightmare in Elm Street Culvert…"
Q. There they are in Connecticut with new laws I hadn’t
heard about: they have to register their guns and high-capacity magazines? (Federico ~ Golden CO)
A. As a result of the Newtown shootings a little over a year
ago, the state passed a law requiring the registration of semi-automatic rifles
and high capacity magazines by January 1st. So far, not one criminal has shown up and no illegal guns have been registered. In the meantime, authorities will have a list
of guns they can go seize when the next round of gun control laws gets
passed.
Q. Some guy on Wall Street is recommending people buy guns
and ammo to prepare for the next financial collapse? (Ruiz ~ San Antonio, TX)
A. He’s saying you’ll need a bag full of food, guns and ammo
to stay alive. He’s correct. You’ll need
the guns and ammo so you can go steal food and money back from the liberal
leftists who stole them from you in the first place. There are some economists who believe a
collapse is inevitable. Think about what chaos there may be in this country if
no one pays their ObamaCare premiums! Obama
would have to call out the D.H.S. Storm Troopers and they’d be anxious to use
their 6 billion rounds of ammo…
TODAY’S QUOTE:
“I just want everyone to know that
20,000 gun laws in the United States are unconstitutional. They infringe on
your right to protect your life, the lives of your loved ones, and your
property.” ~ Michael Badnarik
