U.S. IMAGE IN THE FLUSHER

The World Economic Forum has delivered horrible news to the United States… worse than Standard & Poors downgrading of our national debt.  Ever since they’ve been tracking these things, the U.S. has ranked #1 in international competitiveness, (our ability to compete in the world market).  Since 2008, we have fallen to #7.  Furthermore, when you put our government up against all of the others in the world, the level of trust in our government is down to… #54.

Are we really proud to be Americans?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What do you think about the Chicago teachers’ strike?  (Ellie ~ Rosemont, IL)
A. Here we are in national economic crisis and they have the gall to go on strike?  I say, lock them out.  Let them go without a paycheck like millions of other Americans are.  Better yet, hire some of those unemployed Americans to replace these bums.  That would be a classic Reagan answer to the issue; remember the Air Traffic Controllers?  Why should the country be held hostage by these self-serving, self-absorbing dimwits?

Q. Are we really any safer now than we were on 9/11/01?  (Gus ~ Medford, OR)
A. Not according to Rand Paul.  He finds that the same problems that existed pre-9/11 exist today.  For example, hundreds if not thousands of illegal aliens may have taken pilot training and obtained licenses since then; they know if 25 in one small segment alone.  In the meantime, TSA continues to probe children and little old ladies while ignoring Middle Easterners purchasing one-way tickets.

Q. Is there any credence to the position that no one could have straightened out our economic mess in just four years?  (Birdie ~ North Hollywood, CA)
A. Obama’s administration declared the recession “over” in 2009.  In June of 2010, he and his Czars decreed a “summer of recovery.”  Every day, it seems, he’s been seizing on some number or another and claiming victory.  Yet, he continues to present misleading or lying statistics; they just quietly revised June and July unemployment figures upwards.  10,000 of the 96,000 who went back to work in August were union members who had been on strike; how can you justify counting them as “new jobs created?”  Either they are lying or they are incompetent; one or the other, do you want four more years of this?
