Libya’s President Mohammed el-Megaref has ordered unlawful
militant groups to disband or get out by Tuesday or face the consequences. He made the decision amid public anger over
the armed factions and Islamic extremists, which resulted in the storming of
some of their compounds by pro U.S. protesters and others.
COMMENTS:
We embrace Libya and el-Megaref for their courage during
difficult times. Hopefully, some other
countries will follow their leads.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Romney says 47% of Americans, the ones collecting food
stamps, etc., are “moochers.” Do you
agree? (Lilly ~ Johnson Park, CA)
A. Yes and no. In the
first place, he didn’t call them “moochers;” the Demos are putting words in his
mouth and twisting them. About 30% are
temporarily down and out, unemployed and doing everything they can to put food on
the table; they desperately want jobs. The
remaining 17% have become “moochers” over the years and will do everything they
can to escape work. But, they are all drawing some type of government benefit and therefore less
inclined to vote against Obama, which is the point Romney intended to
make.
Q. Obama says he doesn’t need to be in the White House
during national emergencies because he can rule from anywhere. What do you think? (Kyle ~ Arroyo Grande, CA)
A. In Obama’s case, that could be true. He does not believe in consulting with anyone
and has spent almost no face time with his Cabinet in four years. Whenever he has met with a special committee,
he doesn’t listen to them. The only two
people he listens to at all are
Michelle Obama and Valerie Jarrett. To
that extent, he doesn’t need to be physically in the White House. But, the public wants the guy in charge to be
physically at the helm in times of emergency, and Obama doesn’t seem to care
about what people want.
Q. Why are they sending the FBI into Libya? Aren’t the issues of terrorism and protection
of our embassies and consulates traditionally a military matter? (Guy ~ Blythe, CA)
A. Obama, you will recall, wants to bring the Gitmo
terrorists to the U.S. and try them before civilian courts; he doesn’t believe
in military justice. Having the FBI
investigate means criminal charges against the perpetrators in a U.S. Court instead
of military detention and trial at Gitmo under military rules.
