President Obama’s extravagant stimulus package that he
labeled a “jobs bill” was turned down even by his own party in the Senate last
week. No one wants the $447 billion
(plus) costs associated with a stimulus that has already failed. In spite of the pushback, Obama and Reid have
devised an “in your face” strategy to pass the stimulus package on a piecemeal
basis, one new bill per week, until the entire package is passed. The first piece involves $35 billion to
states to rehire teachers and first responders.
COMMENTS:
It’s easy to see that they have chosen what would appear to
be the most palatable piece to lead off the attack. They don’t mention that this $35 billion
would have to be spent again next year and the year after to keep these people
employed. They are attacking the symptom
without addressing the problem. And,
they’re doing all of this in the face of the majority of Americans who are sick
and tired of stupid spending on ill-thought-out schemes while millions of
people are gravitating toward absolute poverty.
I for one am sick and tired of all of the bullshit.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Why are we sending troops to Uganda? This goes beyond being policeman for the
world. This smacks of American
imperialism. (Jake ~ Marietta, GA)
A. There’s no doubt that the Ugandans can use help, but 160
troops are not exactly help. There are
other countries in that area which need help as well; why Uganda instead of
them? Finally, we have a huge problem
along our southern border. When are we
going to put troops there and attend to our own national security? I agree with your concerns.
Q. Why haven’t the Aruban police charged Gary Giordano with
the murder of Robyn Gardner? (Brenda ~
Redding, CA)
A. The police there are obviously inept. I have been saying ever since the Natalie
Holloway case that any American who travels to Aruba, particularly a woman,
should have their dead examined; it’s dangerous.
Q. I see the White House is refusing to respond to subpoenas
regarding the Solyndra scandal. How can
they get away with that? (Marlo ~ Long
Beach, CA)
A. Executive Privilege.
Virtually all Presidents since Nixon have used it at least once. It’s also referred to as “stonewalling” and, in Obama's case, "Electile Dysfunction."
TODAY’S QUOTE:
From Watergate we learned what
generations before us have known; our Constitution works. And during Watergate
years it was interpreted again so as to reaffirm that no one - absolutely no
one - is above the law. ~ Leon Jaworski
