Iran is directly involved in directing and organizing a plot to bomb Saudi
and Israeli embassies in Washington, to kill at least the ambassador from Saudi
Arabia, and to blow up a restaurant in Washington, DC according to the Justice
Department. Manssor Arbabsiar and Gholam
Shakuri, both originally from Iran, have been arrested and detained. Hundreds of innocent people would reportedly
have been killed in the process. This could be considered an overt act of war
against the United States.
COMMENTS:
Obama has refused to deal with the nuclear threat in Iran
and has repeatedly warned Israel to back off.
Taking military action against Iran at this juncture would surely assure
Obama’s reelection; no sitting President has been turned out of office during
wartime. Had this plot been successful,
even Obama could not have prevented us from retaliation. One thing is obvious: Ignoring Iran is not the answer. Chew on all of that for a while.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Will they find Michael Jackson’s doctor guilty of
murder? (Amanda ~ Oxnard, CA)
A. He is certainly guilty of something. What was propofol doing in Jackson’s
house? Why did he not report the drug
abuse to authorities? I don’t know that
they will find him guilty of 1st degree murder, but he is certainly
guilty to some lesser level such as negligent homicide or manslaughter.
Q. What do you think about Chris Christie endorsing Mitt
Romney? (Mitch ~ Henderson, NV)
A. Endorsements from such prominent Republicans may
theoretically play a role in the primaries.
However, the 2008 elections featured so many endorsements that they
eventually lost their significance. I
personally think that if we just accept an endorsement by somebody and vote
accordingly, we are not doing our jobs as citizens in investigating the
candidates before we cast our votes. I
know it takes time and energy, but this IS
after all is said and done… our country.
Q. The heat is growing on Eric Holder as it becomes more
obvious that he and the Justice Department have been hiding, shucking and
ducking the facts on the Fast and Furious scandal. Can he hang on to his job? (Julia ~ Brigham City, UT)
A. In light of yesterday’s events, I changed my answer to
this question. I do not think that the
revelation about the Iranian plot yesterday was coincidental. Investigators would probably have been able
to get more information on the plot if they had a few more days or weeks before
this became public. I think the
revelation yesterday was a direct attempt to detract from the Fast and Furious
scandal, and that, my friend, is a measure of the seriousness of the scandal
situation. I don’t think the heat is
going to die down in the long run.
TODAY’S QUOTE:
“When I say that terrorism is war against civilization, I may be met by the
objection that terrorists are often idealists pursuing worthy ultimate aims --
national or regional independence, and so forth. I do not accept this argument.
I cannot agree that a terrorist can ever be an idealist, or that the objects
sought can ever justify terrorism. The impact of terrorism, not merely on
individual nations, but on humanity as a whole, is intrinsically evil,
necessarily evil and wholly evil.” ~ Benjamin Netanyahu
