"At the outset of the creation of the euro in 1999, it was expected that the southern eurozone economies would behave like those in the north; the Italians would behave like Germans. They didn’t," Alan Greenspan told CNBC in an exclusive interview. Simply put, the northerner’s are being taken advantage of by the southerners and the union will fail. More ominous, Greenspan went on to say that the U.S. economy is being driven by Europe and that today, there is one big, giant global stock market.
COMMENTS:
A lot of my Republican friends will say they never liked
Greenspan. But, I do. I think he did a remarkable job in steering
our economy for many, many years and I listen to what he says. And, the stock market did soar yesterday with news that Greece is getting its bailout. Obama is trying to paint our picture to be
much rosier than it is and I do not believe one single word that comes out of
his mouth. In fact, if he said “Good
morning,” I’d be the first one in the bomb shelter.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I just heard that ObamaCare is going to glom on to my
personal medical records, put them all together and make them part of one big
government file. They have my financial
information from the IRS and banks, my military records, and I suspect they
have my voting records. Isn’t this an
invasion of my privacy? (Vi ~
Shingletown, CA)
A. Yes. We all need to stand together and tell them to go to
hell. We have never given our consent
for anyone to have our private medical records under HIPPA, unless we sign for
it. That’s their law they are violating and I’m madder than a wet
peacock.
Q. I know you
like Herman Cain. Are you endorsing
him? (Peg ~ Auburn, WA)
A. Not yet, although I don’t know who else I might endorse
at this point.
Q. I see that Rick Perry has come out against issuing a
Texas vehicle plate for the “Sons of Confederate Veterans” that would display
the Confederate flag. Is he trying to
erase history? (Molly ~ Norfolk, VA)
A. He says we don’t need to bring up that old wound again,
but I don’t see it that way. You are
right that it is part of our history
and, although the era was ugly, it is part of our evolution into becoming what
we are today. I don’t see it as being
offensive to anyone, but maybe I am wrong; it’s obviously offensive to Rick
Perry.

the high seas for a long time was not the Confederate battle flag; it was sadly
the Stars and Stripes.” ~ Alan Keyes
