Sen. Edward M. Kennedy wrote in a soon-to-be-published memoir that he made regretful choices after his July 1969 car crash that killed Mary Jo Kopechne; the memoir says that he was haunted by that night for the rest of his life. An allegedly inebriated Kennedy drove off the bridge at Chappaquiddick into a pond; he swam to safety and left Kopechne behind to drown. He said he was afraid and "made terrible decisions" and had to live with the guilt for more than four decades. Kennedy, then 37, pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident and got a suspended sentence and probation.
COMMENTS:
I don’t care who he was, how much money he had, or what he did for this country; he abused his power and privilege, made a mockery out of our justice system, and got away with negligent homicide. That’s one big problem in America we need to fix.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Isn’t all of this flap about Obama’s speech to school kids a major farce? (Shelby – San Antonio, TX)
A. The seeds of Marxism and Socialism have traditionally been planted in schools. While White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs summarily dismisses concern as being much ado about nothing, they did not offer to release the video to the public until Monday so that they will have the weekend to clean it up. It appears that the Administration again was up to no good.
Q. My brother tells me about a couple of radio station towers that got knocked down by terrorists in Everett, Washington. Why hasn’t this made the news? (Belle – Pocatello, ID)
A. A group called “ELF,” or “Earth Liberation Front,” has claimed responsibility. ELF is on the top of the FBI’s list of terrorist organizations operating in the United States; its members are radical environmental terrorists headquartered in London. The news has probably been downplayed because the Administration doesn’t want to take any heat from the public for its lax security stances.
Q. Van Jones, one of Obama’s “Czars,” called Republicans “assholes.” Why hasn’t Obama called him on the carpet, or fired him? (Sam – Alexandria, VA)
A. Because, if he fired everyone on his staff who is a communist, ex-felon, or radical protester with a big mouth, Joe Biden would be the only one remaining in the White House.
