OBAMA’S LABOR DAY YAK YAK

While the President was wooing a 100% favorable audience at the AFL-CIO picnic in Cincinnati, Iran’s Ahmajineded was busy spouting off about how they have their nukes and there is not a damned thing we can do about it.

COMMENTS:
Well, when Iran fires off a nuke at us, we’ll have our government-run healthy care to take care of us. (
Lollypop, anyone?)

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Would you be happy if Health Care Reform fails?
(Chaz – National City, CA)
A. No. I’ll be happy with the failure of any plan that allows government to intrude more into our lives than it already has. But, health care costs are already too high, they’re escalating and they need to be stopped. Malpractice awards are outrageous, drugs costs are way too high, and there are not enough medical providers around. We need to fix these things in a reliable and rational way.

Q. How come Obama didn’t go home to Chicago for his vacation?
(Tammy – Des Plaines, IL)
A. He was afraid some of his old “chums” might want to stop by and visit.

Q. Why don’t more insurance companies sell across state lines?
(Doyle – Morgan City, LA)
A. It’s a matter of states’ rights. States have a right to regulate commerce within their states, and they have a right to license insurance companies and to set rules by which they operate. That having been said, more open competition would probably reduce premiums. As to why a big state like California only has six companies selling health insurance, California has such complex and costly regulations that more companies don’t want to business there. That’s a real side of the issue that no one is talking about.
