Never one to let a good cry go to waste, there she was, the Speaker of the House, demure and delightful as usual, tears welling up in her eyes as she voiced her concerns and fears that we Americans are using language that could incite anger, as in the old days long, long ago in San Francisco.
COMMENTS:
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black? (Oh, I can’t say that, or I’m racist, aren’t I?) The truth is she was in tears because the House had just voted by 347 or something like that, to 75 to defund ACORN, a vote she tried every which way to prevent. That’s why she was crying.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. As far as the charges of racism are concerned, I’d like to know how many blacks voted for Obama not because of his qualifications, but simply because he’s black? (Dyneen – Aurora, CO)
A. See video below.
Q. In modern times, how do Indians choose a Chief? (Hilda – Lake Oswego, NY)
A. They play “Pin the Tail on the Donkey.” Actually, the title of “Chief” is now largely ceremonial. As a rule, Tribes have constitutions and they elect Councils and Chairmen and have governments much like cities or counties. And no, they don’t live in tip-is.
Q. Who is your favorite President of all time? (Lars – Glasgow, MT)
A. It’s a toss up between Ronald Reagan and Harry Truman. Teddy Roosevelt is high on my list; Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter and the two Bushes are at the bottom,
