The Senate committee writing the Senate version of the Health Care Bill twice voted against including the Government Run provision in the final Bill. This is a start in the right direction.

A. Spain has a law against publishing photographs of children of its diplomats. On the Prime Minister’s recent visit, pictures were taken and pictures published included his children. Any competent Secretary of State would have known better than to allow it to happen.

GENERAL BEGS FOR MORE TROOPS; OBAMA SILENT

Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, is asking the Administration for more troops, stating that we cannot win the war unless they can build strength to meet increased Taliban presence. President Obama, focused and determined in winning his Government-Run Health Plan, has responded with a weak statement to the effect that he needs to study the situation further.

COMMENTS:
Here’s my issue. We have literally tied the hands of our troops who are there. We have done everything possible to put them in harms way by not allowing them to use bombs, by making them read Miranda Rights before they take in a prisoner, and by investigating them if they shoot an enemy combatant. Given a choice, I’d rather not send more troops in; I’d prefer to let the guys who are already there to be allowed to do whatever it takes to win the war. War is ugly, and it cannot be won by politicians.

NUMBER OF TERRORIST PLOTS GROWS TO FIVE

In the past week, U.S. officials have announced charges in five terrorism probes in five states, including: Denver-CO, New York-NY, Dallas-TX, Springfield-IL and Quantico-VA. While some analysts dismiss the rise of plots as being sheer coincidence and happenstance, it is a convergence of events unparalleled since the September 11, 2001, attacks.

Analysts do admit that, while the five events do not appear linked, they do involve suspects of a similar socio-economic profile. Their profiles are strikingly similar to European Muslims, with the suspects tending to be less well-integrated into mainstream society; in many cases they have faced economic difficulties and unemployment.

COMMENTS:
Anyone in the business of national security will tell you that you need a lot of skill, diligence and luck to crack these cases. It’s the luck part the worries me. I am not so quick to dismiss the rising number in such a casual manner. The fact that we have this many cases all at once, although not connected, leads me to believe that many, many more plots are breeding as you read this. Keep your eyes open and, as far as I’m concerned, your racial profiling antennas fully attuned. I don’t care if that’s politically correct or not; when it comes to the safety of America and her citizens, you can toss “political correctness” out the window.

SCHOOLS “INDOCTRINATING” STUDENTS IN OBAMA IDEALOGY

Schools across the country have been holding programs or teaching students in school to idolize President Obama. This is not just to idolize the President, but to idolize Obama. The one in the video, (below), is in New Jersey. These schools are funded with taxpayer money.

COMMENTS:
Such “indoctrinations” have historically been the prelude to government revolutions and the precursor of dictatorship. Another technique historically used is to keep the intended dictator's face and words in front of the public; Obama never ceases to miss an opportunity to get on T.V. and, in fact, has gone to great lengths to make sure it happens.

U.S. ON VERGE OF DUMPING ISRAEL?

Obama has warned Israel not to make a military move to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities, and has made it clear that he does not approve of what Israel is doing in the Gaza settlements. Former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski said the United States should make clear that we will attack Israeli jets if they fly over Iraq on their way to attack Iran.

COMMENTS:
When Obama was running for the Presidency, it came out that tens of millions of dollars in donations had found their way to his campaign coffers from other nations, with a significant percentage coming from Iran. That allegation was never investigated, never followed up. If that story is true, one must wonder what impact it would have on Obama’s dealings with Iran. Why, for example, did Obama not say anything about the riots after Iran’s elections until domestic U.S. public pressure forced him to?

OBAMA’S CONDESCENDING FINGER POINTS AGAIN

In his first appearance before the United Nations General Assembly, President Barack Hussein Obama asserted that the U.S. would reach out in "a new era of engagement based on mutual interest and mutual respect." He then wagged his well-known condescending and rhetorical finger at leaders who spend much of their time condemning the U.S. He said "an almost reflexive anti-Americanism" that swept the globe under the administration of his predecessor, George W. Bush, is not "an excuse for collective inaction."

After thereby blaming Bush for the problems of the world, Obama continued, "Nothing is easier than blaming others for our troubles and absolving ourselves of responsibility for our choices and our actions."

HEALTH CARE PLANS WILL SCREW SENIORS

Now that the Health Care Plan is back on the front burner at Congress, they seem willing to discuss allegations that both plans being considered, the House version and the Senator Max Baucus version, will adversely affect retired people and other seniors, particularly those on Medicare. The plans call for reducing Medicare spending substantially, ($500 billion to $800 billion depending on whose figures you use). President Obama denies that such cuts will have an adverse impact on the services provided, but those in the best position to know have already said that Medicare Advantage, where the insured can purchase additional insurance to cover more healthy problems and to fill dollar gaps in Medicare coverage, will cease to exist.

COMMENTS:
Hundreds of thousands of Americans have been paying into Medicare for decades with the expectation of coverage when they retire. Now, Obama and Congress both are seeking to cancel those expectations, even though Medicare is “a contract with Americans.” And, they are both beating around the bush hoping to hornswaggle voters into going for their new plan by telling them that the new plan won’t cost them anything when, in fact, economic mathematics don’t bear them out.

TERRORISTS PLOTTED TO ATTACK GRAND CENTRAL STATION

Drawings and other information secured from the computers of the Al Queda suspects arrested over the weekend indicate that one of their prime targets was Grand Central Station in New York City. Although passenger train traffic throughout the United States has been on the decline for decades, Grand Central shuffles tens of thousands of people back and forth between Washington, D.C. and New York City and cities in between.

COMMENTS:
It is a sad thing to say that our freedoms and liberties leave us open to such plots. Yet, we all must understand and realize that, should we ever decide to start limiting our freedoms and liberties we open the door to the potential loss of our democracy. In that respect, these terrorists would bring harm to our democracy through violence, but there is just as insidious non-violent undercurrent towing at our Constitution constantly these days… Socialistic Fascism.

WHAT OBAMA HAD TO SAY

1. He said that the undercover “investigation” of ACORN was inappropriate and, at the same time, he said that he didn't know a whole lot about the organization. He refused to say that he would cut off ACORN funding. As the morning wore on, he agreed that ACORN should be investigated, (nothing like an enthusiastic “let’s get to the bottom of this,” or a little xxxxx lie, is there?)

2. He got hot-under-the-collar when denying that requiring citizens to have health insurance or to pay a penalty amounted to a tax increase. “I absolutely reject that notion.” He was also quick to say that the “public option” is not, is NOT, dead. He pointed to reforms made by F.D.R. and L.B.J. and indicated that public criticism of his plan shows that he’s gaining ground. He offered no new proposals or changes, but he made it clear that he’s prepared to do whatever is necessary to get his plan passed, “with or without Republican support,” (and, obviously, without public support?” He also made it plain that he favors getting rid of higher-end insurance plans that offer extensive protection and requiring companies to offer less coverage at lower prices: “I do think that giving a disincentive to insurance companies to offer Cadillac plans that don't make people healthier is part of the way that we're going to bring down health care costs for everybody over the long term.” (This guy really wants to drag us down to archaic Muslim standard-of-living levels, doesn’t he? He’s telling me that I have no right to good coverage, even if I pay for it.)

3. He insists that the economic recovery is happening, but says that we are not creating enough new jobs, (our fault?).

4. As to the Justice Department investigation of the C.I.A., Obama refused to intervene, saying “Ultimately, the law is the law, and we don't go around sort of picking and choosing how we approach it.” (No mention of why the Justice Department dropped charges against the Black Panthers for intimidating voters in November, after they were found guilty? No mention of why he stifled an investigation into ACORN until these videos came out? Some of my astute Native American friends would say, “Black man speak with forked tongue.”)

5. He ruled out sending more troops to Afghanistan, even as they are being requested, unless field commanders can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that increased troop levels will help the situation. (Come on, folks! Half of our troops are busy reading Miranda rights to captives before they can “arrest” them. There’s a famous Tiny Tim song about this called, “Tip Toe Through the Bullets.”)

PELOSI SUFFERS STUNNING, BUT WELL-DESERVED DEFEAT

Throughout the ACORN debacle, going back several years, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has flatly and adamantly refused to allow any votes on the House floor that might cause an investigation into ACORN activities, funding, or spending. As recently as yesterday morning, well after the Senate voted to stop future funding to ACORN, Pelosi was blocking any and all attempts to follow the Senate’s lead. Then, in a stunning turnaround brought on by massive public pressure, Pelosi reluctantly allowed a vote to stop all current and future funding of ACORN. The vote was a resounding 347-75, crushing the Pelosi position.

COMMENTS:
Pelosi has used her position and her nasty, spiteful attitude for several years to literally force the House to do everything she says. She has refused to listen to public outcries and she has called anyone who dares to suggest that she is wrong every name in the book. Hopefully, this defeat is only the beginning; she has earned and deserves total disgrace.

A. I am really surprised to hear Cosby pop off like that. I, for one, always thought he was far more intelligent and had a far better grasp of things in this country than Jimmy Carter. In essence, 65% of Americans disagree with Obama’s policies. A substantial number of those must be black Americans, and Carter and Cosby have now charged those blacks with being white racists. Obviously, they’re both six bricks short of a full load….

COMMERCE DEPARTMENT: ACORN WON’T BE CONDUCTING CENSUS

The Commerce Department has announced, shortly after Sean Hannity produced a video of ACORN officials giving instructions to two individuals on how to evade income taxes and how to conduct a prostitution ring using underage El Salvadorian girls, that ACORN will NOT be conducting the 2010 Census.

COMMENTS:
Right after he took office, Obama managed to stifle any investigation into ACORN activities that took place during the election. At the same time, he ordered the Commerce Department to have ACORN conduct the 2010 Census instead of having Commerce do it, as they have historically always done. You may remember that ACORN received $800,000 from Obama’s campaign that was marked as a “donation” and later, after the Federal Election Commission questioned it, the campaign office said they had “misclassified” the cost and it was actually for staging work ACORN did for one of the rallies. Obama has never answered allegations that ACORN was receiving government funding at the same time that it was out beating the bushes to find voters for Obama. Get the picture?

COAST GUARD CREATES MAJOR FLAP

The U.S. Coast Guard was conducting training exercises on the Potomac by the Pentagon on 9/11 while El Presidente was motoring on his way to make a speech. CNN, always the best at giving us important news, got wind of the fact that something was going on and went on the air to tell the world that some military action was occurring. When CNN eventually discovered that it was just a training exercise, the White House and CNN started exchanging sarcastic barbs at each other. President Barack Obama's “Green Energy Czar” environmental adviser Van Jones, who became embroiled in a controversy over his inflammatory statements, admitted Communism and Marxism beliefs, has resigned his White House job after what he called a vicious smear campaign against him. HUGE OIL FIND!

British Petroleum, (BP) has discovered what analysts believe is a major new oil field far below the Gulf of Mexico. BP says that it made the discovery in its Tiber Prospect in the Keathley Canyon by drilling one of the deepest wells ever sunk by the industry. Further appraisal will be required to ascertain the volumes of oil present, but a spokesman said the find could be bigger than its Kaskida discovery which has over 3 billion barrels of oil in place.

COMMENTS:
One always wonders why such a large discovery has not made the news. But, the find underscores the importance of further drilling exploration in the Gulf, which the Obama Administration adamantly refuses to allow. The question is: Why does the Administration want to leave America “over the energy barrel?”

OBAMA GOES UNDERGROUND

Informed sources report that President Obama will hold closed-door meetings with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and other “key” Congressional leaders and Administration advisers in a remote corner of the White House basement next week. The topic of conversation will be how to get the Government-Run Health Care Bill passed in its present form without jeopardizing the re-election prospects for Pelosi and Reid in particular. Some bloggers and “thinkers” speculate that Obama will take a more “hands on” approach…more ownership of the package to relieve Pelosi and Reid of some of the “heat.”

COMMENTS:
Anyone who thinks that Obama has not been at the helm of this package all along doesn’t really understand Washington politics, or “Obama-tolics” in particular. And reports that Obama is now willing to consider dropping the “option” are purely wishful thinking. If you are wondering what will happen, look for Obama to get down to Chicago-style hardball tactics, and look for an attempt to get the “new” “Kennedy National Health Care Plan” passed by September 30th before anyone has a chance to read it and to evaluate its contents. A clue: Nancy Pelosi yesterday insisted that the plan will be passed and that it will have the optional provision intact, as is.

ON THE ROPES WITH HARRY REID

The Majority Leader of the United States Senate told the publisher of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW JOURNAL, critical of his performance in the Senate, “I hope you go out of business.”

COMMENTS:
Reid has shown his utter and complete contempt for anyone and everyone who will not cow-tow to his commands. He has demonstrated time and again that he does not care what his constituents think. When it comes to politics, he’s the original “Dirty Harry.” But, those who know his history on Washington know him as “Mr. Clean,” a moniker planted on him by a mob associate trying to get a gaming license when Reid was on the Commission in Nevada. As in a FBI wiretap, “Don’t worry. I’ve got Mr. Clean in my pocket.” Harry denied it and it was never proven, but he did vote to give the guy a license.

What goes around comes around, and it appears that Reid is about to get his.

OBAMA’S “SHADOW GOVERNMENT”

The flatulent facts are beginning to ooze out about some of the “Czars” and other advisers in Obama’s circle of influence; some have communist ties, some have past ties to William Ayers and other radicals, some have ties to The Weather Underground, (a radical group with a past history of violence), and some are felons.

COMMENTS:
Back in the Richard Nixon days, (in case you are too old or too young to remember), some of Nixon’s inner circle members, (Mitchell, Haldeman, Erlichman et al), saw Nixon losing his grip on things and they formed an alliance to protect Nixon and to save their jobs at all costs. This group gradually gained more political and administrative influence in Washington and there was speculation at the time that, had Nixon not been impeached, they may have been successful in what some saw as an overt effort to overthrow the government. The more I learn, day by day, the more convinced I am that this group in the President’s inner circle are far more dangerous, insideous and organized than we can even begin to fathom.
