Former Presidential Candidate John McCain last week told a Town Hall Meeting in Arizona that he believes we American patriots need to “take back our country.” He went on to suggest that the time is right, that Americans are ready to do that in a “peaceful revolution.”

I’m not particularly a fan of McCain, but I think he’s right on the money in this case. American patriots, you and me, are damned well sick and tired of what government has been doing to us and our way of life for the last 20+ years. All we need is a good, strong, unbending and charismatic leader to show us the way, and I really think that Democrats, Independents and Republicans will come to the aid of our country… in a heartbeat.

SHADY DEATHS LEAD TO RECALLS

Millions of window blinds and shades are being recalled by their manufacturers after deaths of three children who got caught in the cords that make the blinds move up and down. The Consumer Products Safety Commission reports that there were three deaths dating back to 2006.

COMMENTS:
Blinds cause deaths. Blinds should be banned. The 2nd Amendment does not protect blinds. God forbid that anyone should read the directions and keep the cords away from infants and children. Who needs God when the government is here to protect us? (Didn’t Nancy Pelosi say something like that?)

An era of enormous political and financial power dating back to prohibition years may finally be coming to an end with the death of Teddy Kennedy. Joseph Patrick "Joe" Kennedy, Sr. (1888 –1969) was a prominent American businessman and political figure, and the father of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, United States Senators Robert F. Kennedy and Edward Kennedy, Special Olympics founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver, and grandfather of US Representative Patrick Kennedy. THE CONTROVERSY OVER THE V.A. “END OF LIFE” PROGRAM

President Obama, faced with a rising storm of protest over his Government-Run Health Care Plan, came out at Town Hall Meetings to say that no such language was included in The Plan and alluded to the hysteria as being caused by Cable TV, (FOX). Then, Congressional Members, on summer vacation, promised to remove the language that was not there.

The Veterans Administration was preparing to include a controversial chapter on “end of life” decisions for veterans that President Bush put the stop to. But, the current Administration has seen fit to put the language back in, and that is fueling public concerns about the possibility that Obama will sneak the language back in to the Health Care Plan just before the inevitable passage.

COMMENTS:
The public is wise to be skeptical. If us “old farts” would elect to die rather than to live on into our “golden years,” that would solve the issues of Social Security payments, Medicare, and his Government-Run Health Care Plan. Sometimes, I feel like we would have already been lined up next to an open trench and machine-gunned down if they weren’t afraid FOX might cover it.

DEMOCRATS GO AFTER CIA AGENTS

The WASHINGTON POST reports that Attorney General Eric Holder is appointing John H. Durham to head up the investigation into CIA Agents “to review nearly a dozen cases in which CIA employees and contractors may have abused terrorism suspects in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

COMMENTS:
Those responsible for the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States that killed over 3,000 people were fully committed to and prepared for more attacks, more deaths, and more destructive acts against us. They do not capture; they maim, behead and kill. When faced with such people and circumstances, we must take all immediate and appropriate steps necessary to protect our nation and its citizens. That we would now question and investigate the actions of those who were in charge at the time puts the actions of future agents at risk and subjects us to their future failure to get the job done due to their fears of such risks and consequences. It also affirms our weaknesses to our enemies.

This step is another in a long series of actions by this Administration that is totally preposterous and dangerous to the continued existence of our country.

“WEE-WEED” UP JARGON

Obama said the other night that we shouldn’t get “wee-weed” up over his health care plan. The implication is that we have no business being pissed off, or “wee-weed up.” Just shut up and get out of the way.

I hope, at last, that something in this section gets past the censors. I agree with the President completely. The government is in control here, and we all know how very competent the government is at everything it does. Take the Swine Flu vaccine for example. We were told just a few weeks ago that the government had everything under control and that we would have plenty of vaccine to go around. As it turns out, we are going to be 200 million or more doses short, but that is only because there was a “slight miscalculation.” Obama’s Government-Run Health Care Plan will be in good, capable government bureaucratic hands and will actually reduce government spending. They don’t care what you evil mongers think. What you need to get into your thick head now, Mr. and Mrs. Un-American, is that this is the way the country is going to be run from now on. OBAMA REFUSES U.S. OIL DRILLLING IN GULF; SENDS $2 BILLION TO BRAZIL

President Obama and the Democratic Congress have denied any drilling for oil whatsoever in the Gulf of Mexico due to “environmental concerns.” Russia, however, IS drilling in the Gulf of Mexico right under our noses. By rights, that’s oil that we should be drilling for.

OBAMA TRIES TO GET RID OF GLENN BECK?

There is an active, well-orchestrated effort to get Glenn Beck off the airwaves. Beck has been openly critical of, and has extensively investigated ACORN for its unethical and possibly criminal activities. The African-American political organization “Color of Change” is calling for advertisers to boycott Beck’s programs and for networks to drop him. The organization’s co-founder, Van Jones, has now been named the White House “Czar” for “Green Jobs.”

Beck has criticized Jones in the past as being a Black Nationalist and avowed Communist. Color Of Change has pressured a growing roster of companies into pulling their ads from Beck's program, including: Roche, Sanofi-Aventis, RadioShack, GEICO, Progressive Insurance, Men's Wearhouse, State Farm, Sargento, Lawyers.com, and Procter & Gamble.

The President has floated the probability that he and the Congress will use their Democratic Majority to defy the Republicans and to force the government-run health care plan down America’s throat whether the citizens want it or not. AARP JOINS WHITE HOUSE SPIN TEAM

President Obama said last week that AARP was on-board and in support of his Government-Run Health Care Plans. The President of AARP later tried to back away from that statement, but the organization now admits that it supports the Plan and goes on to justify their position by relaying they have only lost 50,000 as a result of their support and that 400,000 people renewed their memberships or signed up, while they normally also lose 300,000 members per month.

COMMENTS:
What this all means to me is that they lost 350,000 members since Obama’s pronouncement. Yes, 400,000 may have renewed or signed up, but I don’t know how that figure changes my math. If you have a national organization losing 350,000 members in one month and normally 300,000 members, that adds up to 3,650,000 members lost this year. Make that 3,650,001 for this year; after 15 years of membership, I’m canceling mine and joining the 60 Plus Association, that has views on this and other issues that are closer to mine. The White House has adamantly and finally said that it does not acquire illicit email lists and that it is not responsible if someone other than the recipient added a name to their email lists. It does not explain why those who have been outspoken opponents of Obama’s Government Run Health Care Plan were targeted with “talk down” emails from White House strategist David Axelrod in support of the plan.

IT SURE IS GREAT TO BE HOME

Traveling out there on the open road may sound like fun, but the beds are too hard or too soft, the food is only “doable” and the beer tastes funny. There was a fire back home while I was gone and the electricity was off for 26 hours. I envisioned coming home to a refrigerator full of maggots; the very last thing I want in life is a bunch of politicians in my fridge.

RECESSION OVER! ECONOMY FIXED!

That’s what the Tim Geithners and Ben Bernankes of the world are saying. Unemployment dropped like a bullet from 9.5% to 9.4%, while the actual number of those unemployed went up. But, they don’t count the people whose unemployment benefits have run out and are still unemployed. Cars are selling like hotcakes, (Toyota and Honda are smiling from ear to ear). Housing foreclosures in July went up to their highest point in recorded history. The national debt rose by $185+ billion in July and Tim Geithner is asking Congress to raise the ceiling on the national debt. Tax revenues are down due to the great economy and everything is just so rosy.

COMMENTS:
So, why the outright misleading statements about the economy? One of the major concerns about the Government Health Care Plan is the $1.5 trillion + that it’s going to cost…$12 trillion if you multiply that by 9…. The costs of Medicare are 9 times what the government predicted. Painting the economy as being solved and the recession as being over is purely an attempt to use smoke and mirrors to make us think that the bucks are going to be there to fund the new health bureau.

What I would do is to enact tort reform to reduce malpractice insurance costs, provide incentives for college students to enter the medical field, allow the full cost of medical insurance to be deducted from taxable income, break up the health care industry so that doctors don’t own insurance companies, insurance companies don’t own hospitals, Canadian pharmacies can sell drugs in the U.S. to create more competition, and insurance premiums are discounted for those who live healthy lifestyles. For those who are under-employed or unemployed and actively seeking work, I’d tie in some basic health care benefits to their unemployment benefits or public assistance programs. For those who are refusing work or refusing to buy insurance, health benefits should be reduced to zero.

The new Federal “Cash for Clunkers” program has been so successful that the original Congressional allocation for the program was gone within a few days. Congress did quickly act to extend the program with another allocation that should last until September at least.

Thousands of beat-up old cars on the lawns of houses occupied by Indians and Mexicans all across the country have now been disappearing. Cadillac and SUV sales have shot sky-high as Indians have been able to buy more booze and Mexicans have been able to buy more drugs. This activity has stimulated the economy, causing the unemployment rate to dip to 9.4% in July.

OBAMA’S THUGS GO AFTER HEALTH CARE PROTESTERS

Members of the SEIU have been showing up at Town Hall Meetings and intimidating those who question and protest about the Government’s Health Care Plan. Thugs have threatened the father of the young man in a wheel chair who has cerebral palsy and who asked direct questions at one town hall meeting. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has identified those Americans who show up to protest as being un-American swastika carrying mobsters. Dan Rather is calling on the President to tell the press and media what and when they can report.

COMMENTS:
This is a sad moment in American History; these are the actions of thugs who would line us up against an open trench and open up with machine-gun fire so they don’t have to listen to us. Their flagrant disregard for the fundamental rights of Americans is pushing this country to the verge of anarchy. Is this deliberate? The only reason I can think of for this continued conduct in the face of an angry country is to create a climate of civil unrest so that they can suspend the Constitution, call in the troops and change the government.

NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD FAILS TO ACT ON 16 SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

The NTSB has failed to act on general aviation safety recommendations that could have prevented the tragic collision of a helicopter and a fixed-wing small plane over the Hudson River which resulted in the deaths of nine people.

COMMENTS:
I wasn’t aware that Barney Frankfarter sat on that Board. The real problem here is that general aviation kills people. Planes and choppers should be illegal, except for the military, law enforcement, and care-flights. Such a prohibition would also greatly curtail illegal drug activity. Anyone found guilty of possession of such an aircraft and hiding it in a hangar would be guilty of having a concealed aircraft. The sale of aviation fuel to private individuals or companies should be prohibited. Members of Congress would be exempt from this prohibition.

The new Government run Health Plan will provide full health benefits to illegal aliens at the expense of the rest of the taxpayers. Already, it is estimated that the cost to the American public Is $86 billion per year. The Federal government, and the Administration in particular, have not openly revealed what they intend to do about the illegal aliens already in this country. MIDDLE-CLASS TAX INCREASES: About Face-Twice

The top three Treasury officials, on different weekend television shows, danced and skirted around the direct question of whether or not we are going to have middle-class tax increases, despite Obama’s assurances that we would not. Our pal, tax-cheat Tim Geithner, appearing on Stephanopolos, answered the question by saying that we are spending a lot of money and “We’re going to have to make some hard choices.” Obama came out Monday and said there would be no tax increases for the middle class, but by now the damage was done and polls show that most Americans don’t trust him anymore.

COMMENTS:
I can answer that with nine (9) fingers tied behind my back! And they want to add insult to injury by passing a $1.5 trillion Government-run health boondoggle on top of it?

This is a special post. It contains a message that is vital for us to read every day and to contemplate while our President and Congress take a brief hiatus from all of the damage they are doing to our country. It's a message well-worth sending on and, due to the tremendous growth of this new blog, I decided to post it here before posting it on "TODAY'S BEST EMAIL."

As one Texan put it well...

Dr. Donald May delivered this message from the courthouse steps in Lubbock. He electrified the audience like I haven't seen in a long time. His delivery was masterful. I am sorry you could not see him in action. Anyway, I thought you might enjoy his words.

"We are gathered here today on the plains of West Texas in common purpose. We are here to remind our government that this is our country. We the People are still in charge, and our government is still our servant and not our master. Our Nation's founding document is The Declaration of Independence. It tells us that our rights come from God and NOT from a small group of Elite men and women.

Our Constitution starts with the words "We the People." Our Constitution was written for ordinary Americans like you and me. Our Constitution protects us from our government and from the politicians.

Our President has complained that our Constitution gives ordinary people too much protection. He has ridiculed us for the high value we place on our Bibles, our guns, our personal property, and our Liberty. He tells us we do not deserve to keep the money we have earned. We are told freedom has not worked. Personal responsibility, free enterprise, and Liberty have not been effective. Our government will now make more of our decisions for us.

Other than our military, I can think of not one government agency I have ever found to be helpful. And speaking of our military, how about those Navy Seals blowing the heads off those three terrorist pirates? Don't you just wish our entire government would function with such efficiency, professionalism, and courage?

We watch in disbelief as our beloved United States is weakened economically, militarily, and morally by a
radical President and his eager accomplices. What has taken generations to build is systematically destroyed and replaced with the same Socialist Evil that brought poverty, destruction, and despair to untold hundreds of millions.

The problems we face today have occurred because we have not defended our Nation from Socialism. For too long we have allowed the wrong people to make the worst possible decisions.

The Bible warns us of class hatred. The radical leadership of our government daily fans the evil flames of class envy. Our European and Canadian friends beg us to NOT make the same Socialist mistakes they did.
The President of the European20 Union warned our President that his Socialist economic plans are taking the World down the 'road to Hell.' The path to power for Socialists includes taking God and guns from the
citizens. Without spiritual and physical protection, people cannot defend themselves and their Liberty. They soon become slaves.

We are angered that... our President apologizes for the exceptionalism and heroism of the United States of America. We are deeply troubled that he told others the United States is not a Christian nation. We are angered that... we have been called cowards and racistsbbecause we oppose Socialism. Socialism is not racial. Socialism is an equal opportunity destroyer.

We are angered that... a recent Department of Homeland Security report has singled out our military men and women who are returning home as being radical threats. The report also characterizes you and me as
right-wing extremists and radicals because we favor smaller government and lower taxes. You and I are average citizens who believe just like most of our fellow Americans. We want our government to leave us
alone and to keep its hands off our money, our religion, or guns, our private property, and our lives.

We demand that our government STOP spending money it does not have; STOP confiscating our money and private property; STOP printing money; STOP subsidizing Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the other failed financial institutions and companies.

Mr. President, stop appointing tax cheats to positions of power and influence. Mr. President, secure our borders. Mr. President, do NOT divert money from our missile defense, F-22 Raptors, and other vital military equipment. This gives encouragement, aid, and comfort to our enemies. Protecting us is your
number one job.

Mr. President, do NOT give voting rights to millions of illegal aliens and felons. You have no more right to create new voters for your benefit than you do to use our money to buy the 2010 and 2012 elections..

We gather peacefully here today because there is a growing concern for what our government is doing to us and to our future. We fear for the very survival of our Republic. Yet there is much to make us hopeful and to fill our hearts with optimism and courage. This is still OUR country! The Constitution of the United States belongs to We the People. Our Constitution still protects us from our government.

Call every possible elected official, including our President, Vice President, and the Speaker of the House. Demand that they STOP stealing our money and giving it to ACORN and their other political supporters in
order to buy votes. Call Senators Cornyn and Hutchison, and Representative Neugebauer. Thank them. Urge them to do much more. Remind them now is a time for action and not for campaigning.

Volunteer to work on our 2010 Census. Confront ACORN. Keep our Census honest. We must NOT allow our President to take control of our Census for his political advantage.

We must replace as much of our Far Left Congress as possible in 2010. Get involved. Do NOT let the ACORN control our 2010 Election.

Talk with someone every day who does not understand our nation's history and our great heritage. Tell them why the United States is a good and prosperous nation. It still remains that brightly lit city on the hill. It still is the best hope for all mankind. Talk with all of the young people you can find. They are our future. Many do not understand what they have and that their future is being destroyed.

Encourage your elected State officials to pass legislation that will protect us from our Federal government. This is a time for strong peaceful action. Let us PRAY that We the People can quickly return our government to its Constitutional responsibilities. Our President and Congress were elected to be our servants and NOT our masters.

May God help our President and Congress to quickly realize the error of their ways and stop their reckless and unwarranted spending, cut our taxes, and reduce the size of our Federal bureaucracy. If they do not, may God grant us the courage and determination to vote them out of power next year.

May God richly bless and protect each of you, and our Constitution, as together we pursue Liberty!"

CONGRESS TO PASS BILL FOR TRIAL LAWYERS TAX BREAK

The Democratic controlled Congress is about to pass legislation that will provide the nation’s trial lawyers well over $1 billion in tax breaks per year. The group is represented by a PAC, (Political Action Committee), which raised almost that much in political campaign donations last year, 96% of which went to Democratic candidates and the rest to Republicans who are screaming charges of “political payback at the taxpayer’s expense.”

COMMENTS:
Those Republicans are such whiners. The tax breaks will incentivize more people to become trial lawyers, and that will lead to more lawsuits. More lawsuits will mean more Court clerks, judges and defense attorneys will need to be employed, investigators hired, and news reporters required to cover the juicy details. This is economic stimulus at its best, the way the stimulus program is really intended to work; and the manner in which it is being accomplished really shows how modern Washington and our elected representatives think, act and legislate.

Q. Why do we keep spending so much money on the Space Station and Space Shuttles? (Bernie – Lodi, CA)
A. A lot of modern day technology that we take for granted was created as a result of and in conjunction with the space programs. Also, Congress lives in outer space and they like to have occasional visitors.

Q. We did Congress put an August 1st deadline on passing the Health Care Bill in the first place? (Charlotte – Williamsburg, WV)
A. They didn’t. They never wanted it done before the summer recess. Neither did the President. Just ask Harry Reid. (My two bits sez he doesn’t dare show his face back in Nevada during the summer recess. He doesn’t want to hear what they have to say about how he is doing his job.)

Q. Why are they talking about ACORN being the ones to “counsel” old people in their twilight years for the new Government Health Ministry? (Bret – Farson, WY)
A. All people, especially the elderly, need guidance and instruction, and they need to come to grips with the fact that their guns and religion aren’t going to do them any good after they get to the crematory.
