COMMENTS:
Do you suppose that the $24 million could have been put to better use? Don’t you think that we really need to take our country back from the politicians and bureaucrats who run Washington now? If we all stand together and stand for the same principles, as American Patriots instead of Democrats vs. Republicans, we can get this done.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What is the White House Rose Garden? (Flo – Kansas City, MO)
A. The White House Rose Garden is a garden bordering the Oval Office and the West Wing of the White House. The garden is approximately 125 feet long and 60 feet wide. The garden balances the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden on the east side of the White House Complex. JFK started holding press conferences there, which led to its fame as being a place where a lot of the nation’s major decisions were made or announced. Jimmy Carter really brought fame to the Rose Garden because his initial efforts to end the Iran hostage crisis (1979-1981) were a “Rose Garden strategy;” he mostly held discussions with his close advisers in the White House. On July 25, 1994 a declaration of peace between Israel and Jordan was signed in the Rose Garden.
Q. What are “Rose Tinted Glasses?” (Jennie – Rosebud, SD)
A. When you look at something through rose-tinted glasses, things seem to appear much more pleasant. When we look at Washington through rose-tinted glasses, we see smiley faces and representatives of “we the people” who are diligently going about doing their best on behalf of this country. It’s only when you take them off that you see snakes, liars, and narcissism.
Q. I heard that the economy is so bad that the FDIC may collapse and we could lose our money in the banks? (Benjamin – Mesa, AZ)
A. The government agency that insures your deposits could run out of money in December, due to the unprecedented number of bank failures, (that we’re not hearing about). Then, if you're bank went under, you could lose all of your potatoes. But, have no fear; they’re going to replenish the funding with all of the money they’re going to save after they approve the government-run health care plan. (And please, pass the gray poop on.)
