The Obama Administration yesterday released a slew of formerly
classified documents regarding the operations of the N.S.A. The documents
supposedly verify that a record of every single phone call made in the United
States, whether landline or cellular, is kept.
This is regardless of any legitimate cause for suspicion or knowledge of
guilt or innocence of any party involved.
The documents also show how the agency spies on Web browsing and other
Internet activity abroad. The papers
outlined the bulk collection of “metadata” logging all domestic phone calls and
e-mails of Americans and are portrayed as an “early warning system” that
allowed the government to quickly see who was linked to a terrorism suspect.
COMMENTS:
I can just see it now.
My little Johnny is playing with the phone and randomly dials the
telephone number of some horrible terrorist holed up in a cave in
Afghanistan. First thing you know, the
government has seized my bank accounts, snatched my computer and my smart
phone, sent in agents to go through my garbage, and has arrested me and charged
me, my attorney and my accountant with a plot to overthrow the government. Just who is going to get me out of this
mess? Johnny’s no help; he’s been taken
off by the authorities to a “real American” house. The dangers here cannot be overestimated.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What do you think about Obama’s claim that the
Republicans are sabotaging ObamaCare?
(Judith ~ Tooele, UT)
A. That’s an outright admission that something is wrong with
the program. The Republicans did not
create ObamaCare; in fact, seeing its countless flaws, they have tried to
repeal it. The evident fact is that,
despite so many things going wrong, Obama wants to saddle us with it whether we
like it or not, whether it will ruin the economy or not, and whether it will
ruin our healthcare in general or not. And,
he’s trying, in advance of its “coming off the track,” to set up blame on the
Republicans. But, he can’t explain away
the growing number of democrats who are abandoning ship on the issue.
Q. How can DHS lose track of 1 million visitors here on
temporary papers; they have no idea if these people left when they were
supposed to or are still here? (Gabriella
~ Newport Beach, CA)
A. It’s called incompetency.
That’s why Napolitano left. She’s
flatly incompetent and has risen far above her intellectual capacity. The real question is: how many of this
million people pose a danger or threat to our national security?
Q. What do you have to say about the USDA paying crop
insurance to people who died between 2008 and 2012 totaling $32 million? (Lewis ~ Klamath Falls, OR)
A. Well, if they can vote why can’t they get crop
insurance?

The 70-page report was released late Wednesday by
Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee. To coincide with the release,
lawmakers also wrote a letter to President Obama calling for a "change in
leadership" at the Justice Department.
