Nancy Pelosi and others in the Senate have declared that the massive hikes in health care premiums will not affect members of Congress under ObamaCare because the government must pay the premium increases. Yes, they must enroll in the exchanges and can select Cadillac coverages, but they still won’t pay any higher premiums, unlike all of the rest of us. Under the old system, the federal government contributed to about 75 percent of premiums; members and staffers are covered through the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program, but it was unclear if the program could subsidize premiums of plans on the exchanges. This ruling was one of the last items of business conducted before they went on summer vacation.

And they wonder why the populace despises Congress.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. There’s a petition going around to have Obama declare the
Muslim Brotherhood to be a terrorist organization. I thought Obama was on friendly terms with
them. (Virgil ~ Redding, CA)
A. Representatives of the Brotherhood have met at the White
House; Jay Carney insists the meetings were
with “mid-level” White House officials. Obama
has been a staunch supporter of the Brotherhood, especially since it took
control of Egypt during last year’s insurrections.
Q. What do you say to the Liberal argument that it is better
to give up some of our personal liberties and privacy than to allow terrorism
here at home? (Sonya ~ Las Vegas, NV)
A. They have just
admitted that they are incapable of proactively stopping the terrorists from
crossing our borders and carrying out their nefarious acts; they have also
proven that they are jealous of you and your lifestyle, so they want to spy on
you to see what they can do to make your life miserable.
Q. Army and Air Force Base Exchanges are no longer going to
sell PLAYBOY? (Kyle ~ Fort Gordon,
GA)
A. That’s correct. They
say it’s due to declining sales. I’m not
sure if they’re replacing it with THE
PROGRESSIVE or MOTHER JONES.
