Obama assured top Democrats that the N.S.A. was nothing to worry about, but revelations in the last few days that the agency has violated the law thousands of times annually since Obama took office has caught them flat-footed. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi called the latest reports "extremely disturbing."
Rep. Mike Thompson, D-Calif., a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said: "Reports that the NSA repeatedly overstepped its legal boundaries, broke privacy regulations and attempted to shield required disclosure of violations are outrageous, inappropriate and must be addressed."
COMMENTS:
Shades of Richard Nixon. Can you imagine our President lying to his
Democrats? I think that is actually a
lot of posturing and fluff. When Obama
speaks, the Democrats all get into their Zombie modes and do as they are
told. He’s hung them out to dry on
numerous occasions and they keep going back to the trough for more. As for Pelosi, we all know she's very much in his pocket and incapable of thinking for herself.

A. They may try, but such an attempt could also inflame
radical Islamic passions in the Middle East; it could be the match that lights
the tinderbox. If they were successful,
that would not mean a decline in the Brotherhood; they would simply transplant
themselves and continue their tyranny.
Maybe, like Al Qaeda, they would form partnerships with the Mexican Drug
Cartels and sneak into the United States with the illegal Mexicans?
Q. What has Newt Gingrich been up to lately? (Hank ~ Walnut, CA)
A. He’s signed on to CNN to do a reboot of CROSSFIRE. He also just made a speech in which he advised
the GOP to get over their anti-Obama stance and move on toward improving the
country. He of all people should realize
that trying to give any advice to the current hierarchy of the Republican Party
is like talking to a brick wall.
Q. I’ve heard that the National Black Republicans
Association is starting a move to impeach Obama. Does it stand any chance? (Jenny ~ Verdi, NV)
A. Not as long as we have a Democratic controlled
Senate. The House votes the Articles of
Impeachment, which is possible but not probable, and the Senate conducts the
trial.
