CHRISTIE SIGNS ANTI-GUN BILLS

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has signed ten new gun control bills into law.  He left five, highly controversial bills on the table and unsigned as of yet.  None of the bills signed offers any guarantees that gun crimes will be deterred or that law-abiding gun owners will not be adversely affected by the new laws.

COMMENTS:
I have always been suspicious of him.  This confirms to me that he is a left-wing liberal in conservative clothing.  The walk in the Hurricane Sandy rubble with Barry Obama didn’t bother me as much as this does, by any means.  The fact that the Republican hierarchy seems to be courting both him and Jeb Bush bothers the hell out of me.  Why don’t they just announce that they are sitting out the 2016 election right now and save the country a whole lot of campaign money?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What did you think of Obama’s news conference [yesterday]?  (Preston ~ Coeur d’Alene, ID)
A. What news conference?  I don’t think standing in front of a bunch of reporters who ask non-confrontational questions and re-spinning a whole lot of lies qualifies as a news conference.  Did you learn anything new out of it?  Did he give Benghazi answers?  Did he discuss the ongoing, continuing targeting of conservative groups by the I.R.S.?

Q. Do you think closing down the government unless Obama agrees to defund ObamaCare is a good idea?  (Chip ~ Woodburn, OR)
A. That is not what the Republicans have been talking about; they are talking about approving a budget that includes everything but ObamaCare.  It’s the Obama camp that is saying “no ObamaCare, no government.”  Now then, consider the alternative.  If we approve this budget with ObamaCare, we are going to put the country into bankruptcy and start a program that is currently incapable of getting off the ground.

Q. I heard a blurb about some skyscraper that was built without elevators?  How are they going to get around?  (Chloe ~ Hanford, CA)
A. It is a 47-story apartment building in Spain.  They do have elevators, but they only go to the 20th floor.  It started off as a 20 story project, but they then decided to add the extra floors.  In the rush to get the project done and rentals coming in, the architect forgot to allocate space on each upper floor for the elevators and equipment.  Odds are that rents will be lower on the upper floors.
