The Veterans Administration and possibly other Federal
agencies have been hiding the fact that at least five veterans died in a
Pittsburgh area V.A. hospital from Legionnaire’s Disease, a disease that should
not exist if proper sanitary conditions are maintained. “This has got the federal government’s
footprints all over it,” according to Rep. Mike Coffman, a Republican from
Colorado. “I am stunned at the
coordination that took place and that is occurring at the highest levels of
government to try and counter the blame.” Legionnaire’s Disease grows in water
sources such as showers and cooling systems, but can be prevented with regular
cleaning and maintenance. The hospital
originally said that a mild outbreak had occurred and that one had died, but a
CDC report showed five deaths and a total of 29 cases since January of 2011. The hospital lab withheld reporting the
presence of the disease for at least two days, while patients continued to stay
in the hospital unaware of the danger. The
lab also withheld reports of cases of the disease from health officials and the
patients’ doctors; reports as to
the level of copper in the cooling system, which helps to kill the bacteria, were
deliberately falsified.
COMMENTS:
Who orchestrated this horrible tragedy and cover-up? Yes, the lies and cover-ups start at the
White House and filter down through the agencies, but I would like to know what
role the Attorney General’s office played in the cover-up. Somebody had to order it! Does the fact that the deaths happened at November
election time have anything to do with it?
My initial response, upon hearing this:
“Jeeeezuz Christ, what’s next?”
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. There’s news about hackers getting into military
computers, banks and the Wall Street
Journal. Has the threat to our PC’s increased
as well? (Juan ~ Canby, OR)
A. Absolutely. There
are two primary groups, those going after mainframe computers and those going
after PC’s, smartphones, I-Pads, etc.
Just because you have the very best protection doesn’t mean you are not
vulnerable, either. I cannot emphasize
enough that you need to keep your protection on whenever your computer is on;
you need to turn off your computer whenever you’re not using it and you need to
educate yourself on how to recognize danger when you see it. You cannot trust your ISP, your firewall,
your virus protection… because hackers are getting past all of them. As far as Internet banking goes, do not store
your passwords on your smartphones or PC’s and change your passwords at least
every 60 days. I know, it’s a real pain,
but consider that the alternative is far worse than your mother-in-law moving
in with you.
Q. How do you feel about approving the nomination of Chuck
Hagel to be Secretary of Defense? (Thuan
~ Santa Monica, CA)
A. I don’t think Hagel did a good job at all of answering
confirmation questions; if anything, he should be called in for a second
grilling. Based on what I heard, I think
he might besmirch the reputation of prior Secretaries. Beyond that, I don’t think ANYONE should be confirmed until we get
to the bottom of Benghazi, as it is obvious Obama’s intentions are to bury the
Massacre at all costs to him. The
smoking gun in Obama’s dereliction of adherence to the Constitution, I believe,
lies at the bottom of the Benghazi Massacre.
Q. What’s your opinion on the resignation of the Pope? (Gigi ~ Santa Barbara, CA)
A. I think that he is seriously ill and wants to give church authorities a head
start as to the selection of his successor.
I am not a Catholic, but I believe that he has set an excellent moral
example that we would all do well to follow.
Unfortunately, Obama is not a Christian; his religion is Narcissism.

“It often happens that I wake up at night
and begin to think about a serious problem and decide I must tell the Pope
about it. Then I wake up completely and remember that I am the Pope.” ~ Pope John XXIII
