BOOTS ON THE GROUND IN LIBYA?

A United Press International (UPI) report shows Western military boots on the ground in Libya, in violation of United Nations orders.  The al-Jazeera English report showed six armed Western troops, possibly British, seen liaising with the fighters in Dafniya, a rebel battle area front line near Misurata, Libya's third-largest city.”  Further, “The Westerners, which al-Jazeera reported may have been facilitating forthcoming helicopter attacks, left hurriedly when they spotted the TV camera, the Qatari network reported.”

COMMENTS:
Similar stories about U.S. forces being on the ground as spotters for air strikes or training purposes have also been circulating.  But then again, did we ever have any doubt that these things could or would happen?  And, when one or two of our guys get killed and we have to explain to parents and wives, what will we do then?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand that Obama has summoned all 250 Republican Congressional Members for a meeting?  What is he going to say?  (Madge ~ LaMesa, CA)
A. “Now hear this, you dirty rats…”

Q.  It’s starting to look more and more like we won’t have an NFL season.  Is there any chance the standoff can be averted?  (Ted ~ Seattle, WA)
A.  I could not care less.  Everybody involved, both players and owners, has been gouging the public for years.  As far as I am concerned, they should go two or even three seasons without playing.  Both sides deserve the loss of income.

Q.  There’s a new World Health Organization study out that says cell phones are dangerous to your health.  We’re always hearing pros and cons.  What do you think?  (Torrie ~ Los Angeles, CA)
A.  I’ve had a cell phone in my ear since 1989.  I use it exclusively in business and 98% in personal calls.  When I don’t have it in my ear, I have a Bluetooth headset on.  Hundreds of thousands of people have used them just as long and just as much.  I have yet to hear of a story where someone got brain cancer or any other malady from cell phone use and you would think that, by now, there would be cases if the danger was real.  Personally, I think the story is a bunch of hooey, put out by the land-line companies.
