AMERICA’S NUCLEAR ARSENAL CRUMBLING

A recent article in The AMERICAN LEGION Magazine reports that our nuclear arsenal is starting to fall apart.  Many bombs in storage are well over 30 years old and so are the technology used to build them and the rockets used to launch them.  In the meanwhile, China is growing its military strength at an alarming rate and we have no plans to update our stockpile.

COMMENTS:
This is upsetting news.  The U.S. spends as much on its military as all of the other nations combined.  That is a lot of money and I wonder why we allowed the weapons we have to fall apart.  Where is all of the money going?  Waste and fraud?  There is absolutely no excuse for this report, and the boys at the Pentagon need to be called on the carpet for it.  Maybe Anthony Weiner can stick it to ‘em.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q.  Michelle Bachmann is about to run.  Can a woman win?  (Lila ~ Albuquerque, NM)
A.  Yes.  I think the days of showing prejudice towards any segment of our society are waning.  But, I don’t think they’ll let her hang a clothesline out at the White House.

Q.  Minnesota is tackling a major budget problem and planning to shut down their government. Will more follow?  (Benjamin ~ Yerington, NV)
A.  I don’t understand why state legislatures have to meet year around.  They have so much time on their hands that all they do is spend taxpayer money.  I hope Minnesota shuts down and others states as well.  Maybe Congress would take the hint: if you’re not in session, you can’t spend our money and we can cut their pay as well.
Q.  How does Obama get away with joking about his failed economic policy and jobs program?  (Hal ~ Cottonwood, CA)
A.  I agree; it’s not a laughing matter.  Obama thinks he can joke his way out of his failed stimulus plan that everyone was telling him was stupid when he did it.  But then again, he’s a self-centered elitist who is not inclined to listen to anyone.  When you are out of work and down on your luck, this is definitely not funny.
