HOLDER RENEWS EFFORT TO CLOSE GUANTANAMO, TRY KSM IN CIVILIAN NEW YORK COURT

Holder now says that trying KSM in a military Court might mean he would not get the death penalty, even if he pleaded guilty, but that he could get the death penalty if tried in a civilian Court.

COMMENTS:
Wow, what double-talk is that? He might not get the death penalty if it’s a military trial and he might get the death penalty if it’s a civilian trial? Maybe that all has a bearing on why he dropped charges against those Black Panthers in Philadelphia? Maybe the grass he smokes is from Venezuela and not Columbia? Maybe he should just pack his bags and get out of town?

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I heard that the Federal Government has some direct responsibility in the Gulf Oil disaster. What is it? (Milo ~ Chester, CA)
A. BP-ARCO wanted to drill in 500 feet of water off the coast of Louisiana. Louisiana agreed to the drilling. The Feds refused and told BP the only available area to drill at was…. Where the Deep Horizon went down in 5,000 feet of water. Now, there was no prior similar drilling and no plan on how to handle something like this and yet the feds authorized that. If they had not done so, if they had authorized drilling at the first site, we would not be having the problem we are.

Q. Now they’re talking about a national sales tax. Value-added tax, more income tax, sales tax, tax this, tax that. Why aren’t they cutting spending before they start raising taxes? This is pure B.S. (Waldo ~ Stinson Beach, CA
A. Yes, it is. And, you should be upset enough to raise hell about it.

Q. What are people who have been out of work for two years going to do now that unemployment benefits will no longer be extended? (Sally ~ Prescott, AZ)
A. Ask Tim Geithner. He’s the one who has all of our money.
