Q. I almost laughed when I saw on TV over the weekend that many BP/ARCO dealers are covering up the “BP” on their signs because sales are down. Why don’t they just change brands? (Carlisle ~ Redondo Beach, CA)A. Most dealers have franchise contracts that prevent them from simply changing brands. They should have checked into BP’s putrid reputation before signing on the dotted line.
Q. Did they fire Helen Thomas after her anti-Israel remarks? (Horst ~ El Cajon, CA)
A. She retired. As anti-Palestine, anti-Hamas and pro Israel as I am, I was hoping she would keep her job. This is a country with freedom of speech, remember? If you can shut down speech that is offensive or has no social merit, Obama wouldn’t be able to monopolize the airwaves the way he does.
Q. What do they do with the tar balls from the oil leak? (Bobby – Redding, CA)
A. They stick feathers in them and throw them at incumbent politicians.
