As reported by Fox News, “For nearly two decades, the U.S.
Army has provided an honor guard for an Independence Day celebration at a
Baptist church that predates the founding of the nation. But this year, that
tradition has come to an end. Officials at Fort Gordon, Georgia say they will
not be able to send an honor guard to a July 5th service at Abilene Baptist
Church because it violates a military policy banning any involvement in a
religious service.
“While there are conditions under which the Army can participate
in events conducted at a house of worship, we cannot participate in the context
of a religious service,” according to Public Affairs Officer J.C. Mathews. He
said officials at Fort Gordon as well as the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate
reviewed the church’s request and determined they were in fact holding a
“religious service.”
COMMENTS:
It only took 238 years of providing that honor guard for the government to reach this decision. I wonder if he’d deny an honor guard to the oldest Muslim
church in America?
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What do you think of Obama’s push to “diversify” wealthy
neighborhoods? (Del ~ Galveston, TX)
A. I take it he wouldn’t mind if a homeless camp sent up
tents on the White House lawn? Lately,
it’s gotten so that every day this condescending master bigot says something
new to tick off Americans. If I had to pick someone that had to move
back to Africa, he’d be my only choice.
Q. Why did Iowa cancel its scheduled Iowa “star poll” of GOP
presidential contenders? (Loni ~ Camarillo,
CA)
A. They don’t have enough straws. The Iowa State GOP says it’s due to lack of
interest.
Q. Are we selling arms to Hezbollah? (Gregory ~ Salinas, CA)
A. Yes. Around $82.5
million in weapons and ammunition have been provided to the Lebanese Armed Forces
since August 2014. Lebanon appears to be
forwarding those arms to its close ally, Hezbollah, according to a report on TOWNHALL.COM. No wonder the world calls us “the
Ugly Americans.”
TODAY’S QUOTE:
“History demonstrates that previous military drawdowns
invited aggression by our enemies. After World War I, America drew down forces
until the U.S. Army had fewer than 100,000 men in uniform. That weakness
invited Nazi aggression in Europe and the imperial Japanese attack at Pearl
Harbor.” ~ Frank Gaffney
