GOODBYE MARGARINE & FROZEN PIZZA

Back in 1988, the feds urged people to put trans fats into their diets to replace saturated fats.  Now, the FDA is issuing orders to get rid of all trans fats within three years.  The food industry already has largely removed trans fats from its menus, but trans fats are still being used in pre-packaged items and snack foods, including cake mixes, microwave popcorn, margarine, crackers, coffee creamers and ice cream sprinkles. Trans fats help ensure that foods retain their taste, texture and shelf life.  The change will cost the food industry somewhere between $2 and $14 billion dollars in modifications.

COMMENTS:

The next thing on the agenda: the FDA will ban ice cream, apple pie, hot dogs and lollypops, because they are bad for your health.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:

Q. Why hasn’t Obama spoken out about China’s hacking of federal computers?  (Georgina ~ Montpelier, VT)
A. If our Internet were to crash, we would be in a world of hurts and China has proven it has the ability to crash our Internet.  Any CEO would have the smarts to call in every technological CEO in the country for a meeting and challenge them to devise a method to protect us.  But, Obama is no CEO by any stretch of the imagination and he’s definitely not smart.

Q. Why is Franklin Graham speaking out against Obama?  (Gustavo ~ Blythe, CA)
A. Obama twisted arms and bullied the Egyptians into releasing Mohamed Soltan, who had been sentenced to life for his affiliation with the radical Islamic terrorist group, The Muslim Brotherhood.  But, Obama refuses to even mention the name of  Saeed Abedini, an American Christian pastor who has been imprisoned in Iran since September 2012.  I guess Abedini needs to convert to Islam before Obama will do anything to get him freed.

Q. Why is the Obama Administration so intent on removing Alexander Hamilton from the $10 bill?  (Celina ~ Red Bluff, CA)
A. He wants to replace Hamilton with an important, historical woman.  Look for Michelle’s mug to be on the next $10 bill.
