Dr. Katherine Mitchell of the V.A. Hospital in Phoenix is saying that the Inspector General’s report which resulted in Shinseki’s resignation doesn’t tell the whole story. In fact, that report seems to have been slanted to make the wait times seem better than they actually have been. She says the 115-day average delay was grossly understated: “"I know what the near-list was, because I helped hide it."
COMMENTS:
This whole story is, I fear, just the tip of the
iceberg. So far, the problems that exist
at 41 other hospitals already suspected of having similar issues have not been
investigated; only Phoenix has. That the I.G. distorted the truth is indicative to me that the Administration
ordered him to make it look better than it actually is, because they intend to
do another cover-up and get rid of the bad news before the November
elections. Although I sincerely doubt it
will happen, the press and media need to
dig in on this story and get all of the ugly facts out; I don’t give a damn
what Obama wants.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Any remarks on the resignation of Jay Carney as Press White
House Secretary? (Byron ~ Santa Ynez,
CA)
A. Good riddance. I’m
tired of watching his mealy-mouth face spewing out lies, dodges and
spins. How he could sleep at night, I’ll
never know. He must have been taking Ambien
by the bucketful with vodka chasers.
Q. So, we traded five terrorists for the freedom of one
American POW in Afghanistan, Bowe Bergdahl.
Everyone is weighing in on it.
What do you have to say? (Helen ~
Yreka, CA)
A. I prefer to weigh in on scales and rather infrequently at
that. As a veteran, I’m grateful for the
release. Yet, what are we doing about
our men who are still POW’s in Viet Nam?
And why did we have to release five for one? It’s very bad enough that we released any of
those terrorists at all, so why five? It
sounds to me as if our President has our country suddenly sucking hind
tit.
Q. Why are insurance companies refusing to release their rates
for health care coverage for the next year?
(Orem ~ Florence, AZ)
A. The Obama Administration hasn’t figured out how to spin
the bad news yet. They also think that delaying
the announcement will make it more difficult to fight the horrendous increases
which are coming.
