NO ONE TRUSTS THE GOVERNMENT?

Only 19% of Americans say they trust the government in Washington to do what is right for the country.  Despite highly negative views of the federal government overall, the public has favorable views of many of its agencies and departments, which were closed by the shutdown. Majorities have favorable opinions of 12 of 13 agencies tested – with the IRS the lone exception (44% favorable).

COMMENTS:
Just remember this: It’s not the system of government that is broken; it’s the lack of ability and desire of incumbents to be responsible to their constituents. We need to put every last one of them on the unemployment roles in November of 2014.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Seconds after his signature was affixed to the latest budget “deal,” President Obama went on the offensive and said we now have to hammer out an immigration deal to give illegals the legal right to stay here and have a path to citizenship.  Where does he get the guts to do that so quickly?  (Tuffy ~ Fresno, CA)
A. Weak people have to stay on the offensive, constantly dishing out “the muscle” in order to keep others from discovering them for what they really are.  It’s the classic case of the “bully complex.”  That’s why they refer to him as having a “bully pulpit.”

Q.  What’s your opinion on the ObamaCare website problems?  (Trish ~ Palo Alto, CA)
A.  From what I understand, the programming used to build the website is ancient technology.  It may take up to a year to resolve the glitches and there is a possibility it may have to be totally rebuilt.  Whenever you undertake anything that is a major, major project, you are wise to bring in a number of capable and knowledgeable consultants to help you work through the process.  I don’t know that this was done on this project.

Q. As tough as the economy has been, I’m surprised more cities and counties have not been having financial problems.  Why haven’t they?  (Cal ~ Shelby, WA)
A. They are having their financial problems, but those problems are lost in the constant onslaught and barrage of scandal and mismanagement coming out of Washington.
