Obama’s new budget plan will alter the way Social Security recipients get their raises. Currently based on the CPI, (Consumer Price Index), the new plan includes an inflation gauge that would effectively reduce cost-of-living increases for Social Security beneficiaries. It also proposes using the new calculation for adjusting income tax brackets, which would mean higher payments for many taxpayers.
COMMENTS:
And it’s ObamaCare that screws the elderly in this country
by denying them life-extending care on the basis of cost. Is this what we have come to in this
country? A different form of
euthanasia? Is it truly a case of elimination
of the old farts? Is this the President you voted for? I really hope you get a good night’s
sleep.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I can’t help but feel that Obama and the gun control
freaks have no grasp of reality. They
say that, by denying the ability for you and me to have ammo magazines with
higher capacity, they will put the shooter in the situation of not being able
to fire off as many rounds as quickly against his targets. Well, that also means that the victim only
has a limited number of rounds they can use to fire back. And, the shooter is not going to comply with
the law, anyway. You’re just
handicapping someone’s ability to defend themselves. (Charlotte ~ Escondido, CA)
A. Right on. One
idiot lawmaker even thought that, once the magazine is empty, you throw it away
so that even the high capacity magazines in the hands of bad guys would
eventually be used up and gone. This is
the real problem: we gun owners are not dealing with rational and intelligent
adversaries.
Q. The jobs numbers coming out Friday stunk like hell. Now, Obama is trying to blame Sequestering
and the Republicans for the lower jobs numbers.
Doesn’t he ever accept responsibility for anything he does? (Bertha ~ Redding, CA)
A. No, a thousand times no.
Q. The Postal Service is trying to sell off old buildings in
order to convert assets into money and reduce costs. But a group of preservationists is madder
than hell. They are saying some of the
600 post offices earmarked for disposal in the agency’s fiscal 2012 report
could have historical significance and be sold.
I say we have to start acting responsibly. If they want to preserve these old buildings,
then it should be their money that is put up to do the job, not ours. (Yance ~ Durango, CO)
A. Well, Yance, I’ll say this: After watching Colorado just
pass some really dumb gun legislation, I have to think you are too straight a
thinker to be living there.
