THE DRUDGE REPORT is saying that the number of people not in
the labor force in March soared by a massive 663,000 to a record 90
million Americans who are no longer even looking for work. This was
the biggest monthly increase in
people dropping out of the labor force since January 2012, when the Bureau of
Labor Statistics did its census recast of the labor numbers. And even worse,
the labor force participation rate plunged from an already abysmal 63.5% to
63.3% - the lowest since 1979!
COMMENTS:
Forget what the percentage of unemployment figure is; it’s
not even useful anymore as an indicator.
Simply put, there are 314 million babies, women and men in America. There were over 155 million people in the
labor force in 2009 and now over 90 million of those are out of a job. How’s
that for an economic indicator?
Every other number you see lately is being artificially propped up. Do you
now understand why so many of us are so very worried about the economic future
of our country?
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. The other day, Obama made remarks about California
Attorney General Kamala Harris, calling her “to be by far the best-looking
attorney general in the country.” Some
of the people on the left are raising a ruckus; what do you think about all of
that? (May ~ Denver, CO)
A. He’s married. Let
Michelle deal with it. Ewwww!
Q. North Korea is now warning foreign countries it will no
longer guarantee the safety of their representatives or embassies in North
Korea effective April 10th.
Do you think we’ll get out? (Sean
~ Pittsburg, CA)
A. We’ll probably be there long after everyone else leaves,
like we were in Benghazi. I hope I’m
wrong, but my gut tells me that they’re getting ready to invade South
Korea. I also have the sickening feeling
that, should we intervene, they’ll launch a nuke at Alaska. Finally, I’m not so certain that China will
not back them up.
Q. They say interventions are up along the Mexican Border,
but Napolitano is claiming the border is more secure right now than it has ever
been. Who do you believe? (Checkers ~ Kelso, WA)
A. Rule number one is that if the information is being
provided by an associate of Obama, don’t believe it. For example, she says: "I can tell you
having worked that border for 20 years, it is more secure now than it has ever
been. Illegal apprehensions are at 40-year lows." Well, I doubt she ever worked the border. She makes it sound as if she spent years
trudging up and down the sand and sagebrush, apprehending illegals. Yes, I know for a fact that she has at least
visited the border, but that’s about it.
And, I could say that if the total number of apprehensions is down, I’ll
eat my shirt… without any Grey Poupon.
