Promising that this is only “Round One” on gun control, President Obama literally thundered at a news conference yesterday that it was “a shameful day in Washington, but this effort is not over.” The Senate failed to pass sweeping gun control legislation with the required 61 votes.
COMMENTS:
It is well-known in Washington circles that Obama gets a
nasty, surly attitude when he doesn’t get his way. Then, he starts conniving on how to “shove it
to the enemy” anyway. Gun owners may have
had a reprieve, but I believe it is only temporary and that Obama will be back
in full force looking for even more far-reaching legislation including,
possibly, an overt attempt to rescind the Second Amendment.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Do you think the Boston Bomber was Al Qaeda? (Waldo ~ San
Francisco, CA)
A. Sources close to the investigation say the type of bomb
used and the method of deployment would at least suggest a terrorist from
operations in Pakistan, Afghanistan or Iraq.
That doesn’t mean some nutcase who served with the U.S. there hasn’t gone
around the bend and perpetrated this act.
Although we’ve been told the instructions for making such bombs are
available on the Internet, I think it has some distinct Al Qaeda attributes.
Q. Are the attempts to poison U.S. officials related to the
Boston bombings? (Val ~ Suquamish, WA)
A. I seriously doubt it.
It appears to me that the letters were sent by some disgruntled,
misguided citizen who feels he’s been wronged in some way by his intended
victims. I think he will be identified
and arrested before the Boston bomber is. (Subsequent to post time, we learn that an individual has been arrested in Mississippi.)
Q. I hear there is a Gallup Poll showing only 4% of the
country thinks gun control is an important priority. If that’s true, why is Obama so dead set on
ramming it down our throats? (Janice ~ Gunnison,
CO)
A. Obama stated before his election in 2008 that he believes guns should be
removed from all Americans in order to further his socialist agenda. The Poll results:
