Lindsay Graham says he will not support a filibuster by
fellow Republicans against broader gun control legislation, as long as Harry
Reid will allow amendments to such legislation.
He did, however, say that the legislation is not well-thought-out. “Well, if you ask the question: Should a
father have to do a background check when they give their son a gun for
Christmas . . . that’s what the bill does,” he said. “The bill requires private
individual transfers to go through the federal system.”
COMMENTS:
In other words, the bill creates a national gun registry. And a bill in California would confiscate grandfathered guns
when the owner dies by barring the sale, gift or transfer of any gun not on the
approved gun list. Another bill there
would add so many requirements to the safety and trigger lock requirements that
guns would be rendered absolutely useless in a threatening emergency. The point I am making here is that is not
about gun safety or gun violence; it’s about the establishment of a gun control
beach head and Graham is wrong in not using every tool available to him to stop
this before it’s too late. Forcing this
down people’s throats is only going to create rebellion.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. With the Supreme Court cases having been heard, there is
a whole lot of discussion about gay marriage and about the probability that the
Republican Party will add gay marriage to its platform. How do you feel about that? (Helen ~ Pacifica, CA)
A. The Republicans can do what they want; I quit that party
after 50 years of being a card-carrying member.
The Tea Parties are obviously never going to morph into a political
party, so I’m leaning toward the possibility that Christians and Jews of all
denominations might join together and create a political party that will restore
some semblance of sanity to this country.
To start off with, marriage is a states’ rights issue, period. Now we have a spokesperson for Planned
Parenthood insisting that the right to terminate life exists even if the baby
is born alive and breathing on the table.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve had enough of this decadence. And it all starts at the top.
Q. One of the excuses DHS is using to buy up all of the
available ammo in the country is that it needs it for training. Any gun owner knows you don’t train with
hollow point ammo. So, what really
gives? (Lawrence ~ Casper, WY)
A. Obviously, they either really intend to use it for
something other than target practice or they don’t want YOU owning any hollow point ammo… or both. You’re on the right trail; don’t pay
attention to what they say, pay attention
to what they’re doing.
Q. I understand that the state of Texas is asking for $1
billion of its gold back from the United States. What’s behind that? (James ~ Tracy, CA)
A. State Rep. Giovanni Capriglione says it is “not about
putting Texas on its own gold standard, [but instead will] give the state a
reputation as being more financially secure in the event of a national or
international financial crisis.” Texas Governor Perry says the gold belongs to
Texas and they want it back. They’re
both pointing to the situation in Cyprus as the primary reason, somewhat as if
to say they don’t entirely trust the Federal Government. Wouldn’t it be something if the gold vaults
in New York City were actually empty? Nahhh…
that couldn’t be the case, right?

“Accordingly, when the supply of gold runs short, the
security behind the notes is diminished, the loaning of notes is restricted or
suspended, and the panic follows.” ~ John Buchanan Robinson
