The Obama Administration is ballyhooing that last unemployment figure… 8.1%. What it does not tell you is that the figure is based upon the number of people actually looking for work. According to its own figures, the number of people actively looking for work decreased last month as more people simply gave up.
COMMENTS:
How you can count people looking for work, I will never
know. No one has ever asked me how many
people applied for a job last month.
That figure simply must be very nebulous. The real figure of unemployment, according to
industry estimates, is closer to 14%. Throw
in the number of people who are under-employed or employed in jobs making less
money than they were before, and the accepted figure is closer to 20%. There are those who think the number of
people out of work exceeds the number during the Great Depression. A much better method of counting unemployment
would be to take the total number of jobs filled at the high mark versus the
total number of jobs filled today, and that would be a real figure. One thing I do know… 8.1% is an outright
distortion of the true picture.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand that Navy Seals are ticked off at Obama for
taking total credit for the killing of Osama Bin Laden. Why did he do that? (Byron ~ Klamath Falls, OR)
A. Obama is a consummate narcissist. Besides, the military members are below his
elite status and should be paying for their own insurance, if you will recall
Obama tried to get on during his first days in office. He’s such an ass.
Q. I heard a disturbing “conspiracy theory” rumor that
Andrew Breitbart was assassinated just as he was about to interview Sheriff Joe regarding what evidence he had that Obama was not born here. Could that be true? (Adele ~ Sacramento, CA)
A. Well, the coroner who worked on Breitbart’s body died
mysteriously of possible poisoning on the same day that the results of the coroner’s
investigation autopsy were to be made public.
I wouldn't put anything past Obama's determination for a second term. Where’s Columbo when you need him?
Q. I haven’t heard much economic news from abroad
lately. What is going on? (Victor ~ Des Moines, WA)
A. According to LIGNET, Spain’s government this last week released
devastating economic news revealing that the country has fallen into a
double-dip recession. Plagued with a terrible unemployment picture (one in four
are out of work) and contracting economic activity, Spain could be the next
domino to fall in the EU’s debt crisis, but a bailout this time around from
Brussels is not guaranteed.
