BP FLUFFS OFF GULF OIL SPILL

BP Chairman Tony Hayward told a British newspaper that the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is "relatively tiny" compared with the "very big ocean." "The Gulf of Mexico is a very big ocean. The amount of volume of oil and dispersant we are putting into it is tiny in relation to the total water volume."

COMMENTS:
What an arrogant and insensitive response. But then again, this is the same company that is actively stalling cleanup of radioactivity on the mine site and uranium and chemicals in the groundwater that is part of a plume now flowing in to domestic and agricultural wells in Yerington, Nevada.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I am so upset with our country right now. How can I contribute to the effort to straighten things up? (Jeb ~ Kennewick, WA)
A. Start by getting rid of all of the sources of bad information coming in to your household. Get rid of newspapers, news magazine and all news channels except Fox or, maybe, ABC. Then, sit down and read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. You are at that point in a much better position to run our country than any member of Congress. Then, focus on just one thing that bothers you the most and start asking questions. Maybe it’s education; go to some school board meetings and get some text books to examine that they use for social studies, American History or World History. Thumb through and check what they say for facts. If it’s some branch of government, take in a meeting or two so you can find out how they run their meetings, what subjects they generally discuss, and how they reach decisions. Don’t be embarrassed if you are the only one sitting in the audience at one of these meetings. Then, zero in a little more and start learning about a subject they deal with which interests you. Ask questions; demand answers, check the facts and answers they give you with other, more reliable sources. You may become your town’s most knowledgeable person about traffic signals or about teacher pay. Then start speaking out. But, don’t be like Eric Holder who crucified Arizona over its new immigration bill, said it might end up in Court… then admitted he’s never read it and hasn’t had staff brief him on it, so he doesn’t know what’s in it.

Q. How do you feel about tenure in the school system? (Yolanda ~ Redding, CA)
A. Tenure breeds manure; those who have it have no incentive to do their job right because, they can’t be fired.

Q. Why do you even dare to mention fascism and Obama in the same sentence? (Georgie ~ Montgomery, AL)
A. Look up the meaning of the word in the dictionary and it will become clear to you.

“Every unskilled illegal immigrant who enters the United States for work drives up healthcare costs for every American. And, every illegal immigrant we turn a blind eye toward weakens the rule of law our country is founded on.” ~ Elton Gallegly
