Two significant things happened Tuesday: (1) House Speaker
Paul Ryan had lunch with Obama, and (2) the Republican-controlled House could not
muster enough votes to override Obama’s veto of a Congress-passed bill that
defunded Planned Parenthood and removed the vast majority of ObamaCare
provisions. The vote was 241 to
186, but a 2/3 majority was required. The House has 435 members, 246 of
which are Republicans.
COMMENTS:
Everyone in Congress needs to be replaced, regardless of
party. They may squawk different tunes,
but they’re all in cahoots with each other and it is we who get the shaft.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. Now Trump is calling the Iowa Caucus a fraud and demanding
a “do over.” What is your opinion? (Milo ~ Susanville, CA)
A. I agree with him that it was unfair, but that was due to
Cruz and not the State of Iowa. Cruz
pulled an absolutely putrid, dirty trick on Carson by saying Carson was dropping
out, (which he was not), before the caucus.
Cruz also pulled a dirty trick on everyone else by sending out a mailer
under Cruz’s name looking as if people were going to face some penalty if they
didn’t attend the caucuses and vote. I
believe there should be some serious penalty for such lies and deceits and
because of them, Cruz has moved himself totally out of consideration for
me. Pffft!
Q. I understand there was a recent study which concludes
that cat owners are more neurotic than dog owners? (Chip ~ Cedar City, UT)
A. That’s the
understatement of the year. Pffft
again!
Q. I read that a McDonald’s customer in Utah was having some
dispute over his order and pulled a gun on the employees. I don’t think that guy should be allowed to
own a gun. (Jewell ~ Longmont, CO)
A. I agree with you.
People with anger management issues should be on the list of people with
mental problems. Hmmm… I wonder if Trump
carries a gun.
