NEW ANGLE AT GUN CONTROL?

The rule is that Americans being treated for depression or other mental problems cannot pass a background check to obtain guns.  The United States Preventive Services Task Force recently recommended mandatory depression screening for all Americans.

COMMENTS:
It’s obvious where this is going to lead; a government agency checks the whole country for depression and rules we are not qualified to own guns.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I understand ABC’s GOP Debate Saturday did better than FOX’s?  (Trudy ~ Annapolis, MD)
A. Yes.  The ABC event was during a traditionally slow Saturday viewing night, garnering 13.2 million viewers, versus 12.5 million for FOX on a traditionally busy Thursday night.  I did not watch the FOX debate due to the way they were treating Trump, but I did watch the ABC debate and am delighted that I did.

Q. Did I hear that FOX declared New Hampshire primary results long before the polls closed?  (Warren ~ Minden, NV)
A. According to FOX, the results gave Trump 28 percent support and 14 delegates, while Marco Rubio came in second place with 15 percent of the vote and 3 delegates.  FOX retracted the report and said it was due to an accident.

Q. Is Ford moving its manufacturing to Mexico?  (Chuck ~ Norman, OK)
A. It is doubling its Mexican production and vastly expanding its plants there.  General Motors is also planning a $5 billion expansion there.  The plans to expand in Mexico started at the same time Obama began ballyhooing his highly unpopular Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal.
