EGYPT & MORSI IN BIG TROUBLE

LIGNET is reporting two major and ominous developments in Egypt: (1) Due to the failure of Morsi to agree to cuts in food and fuel subsidies, the International Monetary fund is delaying funding a nearly $5 billion loan and the country’s economy is failing.  (2) Morsi is trying to expand his power by getting rid of democratic institutions and changing out judges for those more obedient to his regime’s needs.  These events could lead to more massive protests, such as the ones which unseated Mubarak, and the whole country could again fall into uncontrollable chaos, thereby further destabilizing the Middle East.

COMMENTS:
So much for Obama’s glee at what happened in the Middle East a couple of springs ago.  For decades, the whole world has been engaged in preventing another all-out war in the region; prospects for continued peace seem to be dimming rapidly.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. How come you’re not talking about the Boston Marathon bombings more?  (Duane – Orem, UT)
A. I try to keep subjects of my stories away from the ones the main stream media are covering; I try to cover the things that are not necessarily news of the day, but are still important to talk about.  I've been pounding on the Benghazi Massacre story ever since the day it happened, while the media tried to forget about it.

Q. I heard that Dish Network is having a hissy over something the Chinese did?  (Trina ~ Springfield, OR)
A. There’s a pending merger involving Sprint and Softbank.  Softbank and its associate UTSI allegedly arranged for $7 million in loans and donations to Chinese officials in return for lucrative telecommunications contracts.  Dish has filed a lawsuit trying to scuttle the merger.  Now, who’s going to clean the Dish?

Q. I know Congress just got its proverbial tit in a wringer by trying to exempt itself from ObamaCare, nut what about the White House?  Will the President and staffers have to go on it? (Tessie ~ Corning, CA)
A. No.  Obama exempted himself and Joe Biden from ObamaCare.  Now, a Congressman has introduced legislation to require the White House, Congress and Supreme Court to participate by enrolling in ObamaCare health exchanges.  It remains to be seen whether or not the law will be passed by Congress and signed into law by our illustrious President.  Bets anyone?
