Despite United Nations and U.S. sanctions against shipments of technology to Iran and North Korea that could assist in their quest for nuclear weapons, a United Nations agency has been secretly facilitating such shipments. An investigation has been launched into the ways in which U.N. agencies have managed to sidestep restrictions that the world body expects the rest of the world to obey in halting the spread of sensitive technologies to nuclear-ambitious pariah regimes.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. What is the media?
I mean, who does that include?
(Ranger ~ Salt Lake City, UT)
A. Webster’s
says it includes everyone involved with journalism, or “all the means of
communication, as newspapers, radio, and TV, that provide the public with news,
entertainment, etc., usually along with advertising.” Yes, that would include bloggers such as
me. I guess I should quit demeaning the
“media?”
Q. Congress is so dysfunctional. How can we change that? (Arlene ~ Genoa, NV)
A. Fire every damned one of them and replace them with
genuinely patriotic Americans.
Q. There’s a major internet threat to computers that might
strike Monday. How can I find out more
about it and determine if I am infected?
(Chip ~ Los Angeles, CA)
A. Thousands of computers were infected about a year
ago. The FBI installed a special program
on the internet to prevent the malware from taking effect, but that program
expires Monday. If you do not have
current virus scan and malware protection that has currently updated databases,
you could be in deep trouble Monday. For
