The U.S. budget deficit grew by nearly $60 billion in June,
remaining on track to exceed $1 trillion for the fourth straight fiscal year. Through the first nine months of the budget
year, the federal deficit totaled $904.2 billion, the Treasury Department
reported Thursday. Obama and
congressional Republicans remain at odds over how to lower the deficit. Unless
their disagreement is broken, a series of tax increases and spending cuts will kick
in next year. Economists warn that factor could dramatically slow an already
weak U.S. economy. Read more on Newsmax.com: Obama on Track for Fourth Straight Year of
Trillion-Dollar Deficit
COMMENTS:
Obama is too busy attacking his opponent with negative campaign
ads to discuss this situation.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS: (Catch
the names of these contributors!)
Q. We still have four months to go and Obama’s team has
become really ugly with its nasty campaign ads.
Why doesn’t Romney sue him for his comments about Romney “may have
committed a felony?” (Faith ~ Tacoma,
WA))
A. It’s a political ad and, subject of outright libel or
slander, everything is fair game legally.
They say he “may” have committed a felony and that plants the seed in
people’s mind without being actionable under law. So, when I say that Obama “may” be more
closely associated with organized crime than we’d like to believe, he can’t sue
me for saying it.
Q. I saw an ad on TV yesterday about getting signatures in
each Congressional District to disqualify Obama. There’s virtually nothing on the Internet
about it, except one site that was going to show the ad, but that video has
been pulled. What’s going on? (Hope ~

A. It’s called “censorship.” The dictator in power
apparently doesn’t like the ad or its purpose.
Q. What’s your opinion on the third major California town
declaring bankruptcy? (Charity ~
Stockton, CA)
A. This is only the beginning. States have lower incomes and higher expenses
due to unemployment and they have been pushing more expenses back on counties
and cities in an effort to balance their budgets. The country is in a very big problem, and it’s
not being talked about.
