LIGNET, the global intelligence and forecasting service, reveals that reports Iran is working with al-Qaeda to engage in a "spectacular" terrorist attack on the U.S. or Western allies are "credible." Iran is capable of supporting serious terrorist attacks, LIGNET says, including those involving biological and chemical weapons.
COMMENTS:
It’s easy for us to dismiss threats from Iran as being from
a “third world country.” But, we all
know of the capabilities of Al Qaeda and now that they have Iranian backing,
they have regained much of their power to cause disastrous harm. There have been many findings along the Mexican border to confirm that Al Qaeda and radical Iranian elements are already here, plotting and planning. We cannot
dismiss these stories and we need to remain vigilant.
TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. I can’t afford higher gas prices. What are my
options? (Gary ~ Tacoma, WA)
A. Well, you can quit driving as much. Combine shopping trips, lay out the most
economical routes, carpool, do more things at home. Or, you can cut back on your purchasing of
things you do not absolutely need, or you can create a combination of the
two. I warned people that things were
going to get worse again; now, it’s starting.
This time, I hate to tell you, but it’s going to get downright ugly.
Q. I’ve heard again that some new candidate might get into
the Republican race. Who do you think
that might be and could they win at this point?
(Bess ~ Tigard, OR)
A. Maybe Chris Christi, but I doubt it. Donald Trump?
I hope not. Sarah Palin? No way.
Jeb Bush? Dead cinch loser. Mike Huckabee? Now, I would welcome that one. The logistics are against them, however,
because each state has requirements for you to register as a candidate and most
of those deadlines have passed. So, the
candidate would have to get on the ballot in the remaining states and try to
establish enough legitimacy to win in a brokered convention. I think this talk is just wishful thinking.
Q. I’ve been wondering what’s going on with the North Korean
nuclear threat this last few weeks and just heard that their envoys are going
to meet with U.S. envoys over the subject.
Do you think these talks will be productive? (May ~ Yuma, AZ)
A. Just about as productive as talks we have ever had with
Iran. There is talk that they were on
the brink of reaching an accord just as the last midget dictator died, but I
would view any such accord as something the North Koreans would violate in
short order and without compunction.
