U.S. SPENDING MILLIONS TO REFURBISH FOREIGN MOSQUES

The State Department is spending millions of U.S. dollars to refurbish mosques overseas.  Some examples include: the 16th Century Grand Mosque in China; a 19th century minaret in Mauritania; the Golden Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan; and the Gobarau Minaret in Katsina, Nigeria. COMMENTS:
In the meanwhile, we have millions of people out of work and a President who doesn’t seem to give a damn.  How do you feel about the Amr Ibn El-Aas Mosque in Cairo, which was built in 642 by a Muslin warrior who conquered Egypt’s ancient Christians in a crusade?  This is just another example of the Administration’s preference for Muslims.

TODAY’S QUERIES & ANSWERS:
Q. It’s terrible about that shooting in Ohio, but I think it just gives fuel to the fire from those who want to ban guns in this country.  What do you say?  (Corrine ~ Vancouver, WA)
A. I don’t agree.  Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.  People were killing people long before guns were invented.  Let’s deal with the problems in our society which cause killings instead of attacking a symptom.

Q. Will Romney ever win over the conservatives in the Republican Party?  (June ~ Redding, CA)
A. He’s not even trying and that, June, underscores what I have been saying all along: he is not a conservative himself, despite what he says.  So, at the very best, conservatives will vote for him as a vote against Obama and to me, this country has not had a clear cut election in decades where you could vote for the better of two candidates; we’re always stuck with voting against someone.  That’s how we get lousy Presidents. And by the way, Romney has figured he'll get the conservative vote when it gets down to the nitty-gritty anyway, so why should he try and win that vote?

Q. I am outraged.  We have high unemployment among our young people and the State Department is already hiring foreign students for summer jobs.  Where in the Sam Hell are our priorities in this country, anyway?  (Eugene ~ Alturas, CA)
A. Our priorities seem to be in forcing religious organizations to give free contraceptives to their employees and teenagers.  I’m glad you are questioning these things; it shows that you want to find out what our country is doing to itself.  Now, get your friends, relatives and neighbors involved, too.

“People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation - much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.” ~ Sarah Palin
